Who makes Fantasma Games slots?
Fantasma Games is a Swedish slot studio founded in Stockholm in 2016. Its founder, Fredrik Johansson, was also its chief executive at the time of the 2024 takeover. Like most online studios it does not take bets itself: it designs games and supplies them to licensed casinos, which run the accounts, payments and safer gambling tools. That division is explained in our answer to what is a slot provider.
Fantasma is a small studio compared with the names at the top of our online slot providers list, but by September 2024 its games were integrated with more than 250 operators across 50 countries. That reach comes largely through distribution platforms, which is why the 2024 sale to EveryMatrix, itself a games distributor, made sense for both sides.
Fantasma Games history and timeline
The studio’s first three games arrived together in 2017: Samurai Ken, Spooky 5000 and Super Sumo. Two years later it signed a licence to use Megaways, the random-reel-height mechanic created by Big Time Gaming, joining a group of studios that built their own games on the format. Over time the Gold Pigger series became its flagship.

The price was 40% above the previous day’s closing price of SEK48.60. Shareholders owning 50.79% had agreed in advance to sell, and the offer needed at least 90% acceptance; by the end of the period on 10 October 2024, 95.2% had accepted.

EveryMatrix said the deal would strengthen its games output alongside its SlotMatrix aggregation platform and its in-house Armadillo Studios. In practice that means Fantasma’s games now sit inside a group that also runs a distribution platform, a model explained in our page on what a slot aggregator is.
Does a takeover change how Fantasma slots pay?
No. A change of owner does not change the maths of games already released. Each game’s reel strips, paytable and RTP settings were fixed when it was certified, and any new version would need its own testing before release to UK casinos. What can change is distribution: which casinos carry the games, how quickly new titles reach lobbies, and which RTP versions are offered. The RTP variants page explains why the same game can appear with different settings.
Fantasma’s flagship series is Gold Pigger, and its first three titles were Samurai Ken, Spooky 5000 and Super Sumo. We have not independently confirmed RTP, volatility, layout or max win figures for any Fantasma game, so we do not print them here. Figures quoted on third-party sites may refer to a different version from the one your casino runs.

How to judge a Fantasma Games slot before you play
Because published figures for smaller studios are patchy, the most useful thing you can do is read the game’s own information. It takes a couple of minutes.
Open the game and find the information or help menu.
Note the RTP shown; this is the version the casino is running.
Look for a volatility indicator or a description of how often features trigger.
Read the paytable for the top symbol award and any stated maximum win.
Check how the bonus is triggered, since the UK version will not offer a feature buy.
Decide your stake and session budget, and keep within the UK stake limit.
What RTP and stake limits mean for Fantasma slots
Whatever figure the help screen shows, the arithmetic is the same. The house edge is 100% minus the RTP, and the long-run average cost is the total staked multiplied by the house edge. The table uses a 96% RTP purely as an illustration; substitute the real figure from the game. Over a single session, results vary widely around these averages, as our RTP explainer shows.

The two rows marked as limits reflect the UK caps: £5 for over-25s since 9 April 2025 and £2 for 18–24s since 21 May 2025, per the Commission’s stake limit guidance (opens in a new tab). A max win quoted as a multiple is worth that multiple of your stake, so a 5,000× top prize would be £25,000 at £5 or £10,000 at £2; such outcomes are rare. Our stake limit for 18 to 24-year-olds page covers how casinos apply the lower limit.
UK rules on Fantasma Games slots
Every Fantasma game at a UK-licensed casino runs under the online slot design rules in force since 31 October 2021: no autoplay, at least 2.5 seconds per spin, no turbo or slam-stop, no win celebrations when the return is equal to or below the stake, and a constant display of your balance and net position. Slots at UK-licensed casinos are not supplied with a bonus buy (see bonus buy in the UK), and free demo play is available only after age verification. The slot game design rules page explains the reasons behind each rule.

Frequently asked questions
Who owns Fantasma Games?
Fantasma Games has been owned by EveryMatrix since 2024. EveryMatrix offered SEK59 in cash per share in September 2024, valuing the Stockholm studio at about SEK209.8m, and 95.2% of shareholders accepted by the close of the offer on 10 October 2024. Before that, Fantasma was listed on Nasdaq First North Growth Market Sweden. EveryMatrix also runs the SlotMatrix distribution platform; our glossary entry on the aggregator explains what such platforms do.
What is Gold Pigger?
Gold Pigger is Fantasma Games’ flagship slot series. We have not independently confirmed the RTP, volatility, layout or max win of the Gold Pigger games, so check the help screen at your casino for the version you are playing. Series games often share symbols and features while changing the maths between instalments, so one title’s figures should not be assumed for another. Our slot sequels guide explains how follow-ups usually differ.
When was Fantasma Games founded?
Fantasma Games was founded in Stockholm, Sweden, in 2016, and its founder Fredrik Johansson was chief executive at the time of the 2024 sale. Its first three slots, Samurai Ken, Spooky 5000 and Super Sumo, were released in 2017. The studio took a Megaways licence in 2019 and was bought by EveryMatrix in 2024. For how small studios usually reach casinos, read our explainer on how new slots are released.
Does Fantasma Games make Megaways slots?
Fantasma Games took a licence to use the Megaways mechanic in 2019, which allows it to build games on Big Time Gaming’s random-reel-height format. On a Megaways slot each reel shows a different number of symbols on every spin, so the ways to win change from spin to spin. Check a specific game’s help screen to confirm whether it uses Megaways. Our guide to Megaways slot machines explains the maths.
What is the RTP of Fantasma Games slots?
No Fantasma RTP has passed our two-source check, so we leave the number to the game itself. The version your casino runs is the one shown in its help screen, and that is the figure to use. Whatever it is, the long-run average cost equals your total stake multiplied by 100% minus the RTP: at 96%, 100 spins at £1 average £4. See what is a good RTP for a slot for context.
Did the EveryMatrix takeover change Fantasma’s games?
A change of owner does not alter the maths of games that are already certified. Their reel strips, paytables and RTP settings stay as tested, and any new version would need fresh testing before UK release. What can change is distribution, such as which casinos carry the games and how quickly new titles arrive. Read about RNG certification to see how games are checked before players see them.
Can I play Fantasma Games slots for free in the UK?
Often yes, provided you first prove you are an adult: UK-licensed casinos have had to age-verify players before any free demo play since May 2019. Demo play uses the same maths as the real game, which makes it a sensible way to see how a Fantasma feature works before staking money. It does not predict what will happen in a real session. Our demo slots guide explains the details.
What is the maximum stake on Fantasma Games slots in the UK?
Fantasma games carry the same caps as any online slot in Britain: £5 per spin from age 25, and £2 per spin for 18 to 24-year-olds. The limits took effect on 9 April 2025 and 21 May 2025 respectively. Any side bet or extra stake option counts towards the total. Lower stakes reduce both the average cost and the size of any prize in proportion. Our page on online slot stake limits explains how casinos apply them.
Are Fantasma Games slots safe to play?
In regulatory terms, yes: a Fantasma game reaching a UK-licensed casino has been tested, its outcomes are random, and its rules must be described accurately. Safe in that sense does not mean low-cost: every slot keeps a house edge, so losses are likely over time. Play only at Commission-licensed casinos, set deposit limits, and use support such as GamCare if play stops being fun. Our guide to slot machine safety tools lists the options.
