Gamomat slots come from a Berlin developer that began in 2008 as a land-based gaming business and now lists more than 130 online slots, including Crystal Strike, Feng’s Fortune and Fancy Fruits Deluxe. This guide covers where the studio came from, the classic styles it favours, how to check a Gamomat game’s RTP and what UK rules mean for its games.
Gamomat is a German slot developer. Its games are built by GAMOMAT Development GmbH in Berlin and supplied to online casinos through GAMOMAT RGS Ltd, a company based in Malta. The business started in 2008 in land-based gaming and later moved into online slots, where it now lists more than 130 games.
A 2023 anniversary report in the trade press named Dietmar Hermjohannes as founder and managing director of the development company, described a Berlin team of about 80 people and said its games were available in more than 35 countries and 27 languages. The same report put the online library above 150 titles, a figure that included games for social casino platforms. More recently the studio was named Games Studio of the Year at the IGA awards in both 2025 and 2026.
Like every studio on our online slot providers hub, Gamomat doesn’t run a casino. You play its games inside a licensed casino account, and the casino decides which titles and which versions to offer. Our explainer on what a slot provider is sets out that relationship.
Gamomat’s land-based roots
Gamomat began as a land-based gaming business in 2008 before diversifying into online games and becoming an independent online developer. We haven’t confirmed which machines or markets it served in those early years, so we don’t name them.
The influence shows in the catalogue, though. Many Gamomat titles use the compact layouts, short paytables and familiar symbols of hall and arcade machines: fruit, sevens, bells and stars, books and gems. If you enjoy classic slot machines or the fruit slots online that imitate them, that is the part of the catalogue to start with. Our history from mechanical to online traces how land-based designs made that jump.
Gamomat slot styles explained
Three families make up much of what UK players will recognise.
Fruit games
Fancy Fruits and its Deluxe follow-up belong to the fruit-machine tradition: fruit symbols and sevens in a compact layout. The appeal is simplicity. The maths in this style is often kept lean, with a narrow paytable, so check the RTP in the help screen. For the meaning of the symbols, see our cherry and lucky seven pages.
Book-style slots
Ramses Book follows the familiar book format popularised in land-based halls: a book symbol acts as both wild and scatter, and in the bonus a randomly chosen symbol expands to fill whole reels. Our book slot machines page explains the format in detail, and the book symbol page shows how it works on the reels.
Crystal games
Crystal Strike, launched in January 2021, is a 5-reel, 4-row game with 20 fixed paylines, according to its launch report. Its feature hides Energy Spheres in a crystal cave; when revealed they trigger respins and spread into large blocks of wild symbols. The same report called the game highly volatile, but we treat that as the publisher’s description rather than a checked figure.

Gamomat RTP: how to read it and what it costs
Every slot at a UK-licensed casino must make its return to player available, usually in the help or info screen. RTP is the share of all stakes the game is designed to pay back over millions of spins; the rest is the house edge. Because studios often supply more than one version, the figure in your casino’s help screen is the one that applies.
The table shows what common RTP levels mean for 100 spins at 20p, or £20 staked. These are illustrations, not Gamomat figures.

A session can end far from these averages, especially on a volatile game where a respin feature carries much of the return. Our RTP explainer and what is a good RTP for a slot? help you judge what you see.
Are Gamomat slots licensed in the UK?
Any studio supplying games to British players needs a Gambling Commission licence, and UK casinos can only offer games from licensed suppliers. We haven’t confirmed the Commission account that covers Gamomat’s supply company, so we don’t quote one. You can check it yourself on the Gambling Commission’s register of businesses (opens in a new tab), which can be searched by company name.
Open the Commission’s public register and choose the business search.
Search for “GAMOMAT” and open any matching entry.
Check that the status is active and that the licence covers gambling software.
Then check the casino itself: it needs its own remote casino licence.
Fast, simple fruit games are exactly the type most affected by the UK’s online game design rules. Since 31 October 2021 British versions can’t offer autoplay, must take at least 2.5 seconds per spin and can’t use turbo or slam-stop. Nor can a game greet a payout no bigger than the stake with win fanfare, so a 20p win on a 20p spin passes quietly. Our spin speed rule and losses disguised as wins rule pages explain why.
Simple fruit games are easier to win on. A short paytable says nothing about the RTP; check it. Book slots pay out after a run of dead spins. Each spin is independent; see what is a dead spin?Award-winning studios run looser games. Awards recognise design and business performance, not returns; there is no such thing as a loose or tight slot that you can spot from the outside.

Frequently asked questions
Where is Gamomat based?
Gamomat develops its games in Berlin, Germany, through GAMOMAT Development GmbH, and supplies them to online casinos through GAMOMAT RGS Ltd in Malta. The business began in 2008 as a land-based gaming company before moving into online slots. A 2023 trade report described a Berlin team of about 80 people. Its games are offered in many regulated markets, but which titles appear in any one casino is the casino’s choice. See our providers hub and who makes online slots for context.
What are the best-known Gamomat slots?
Our checked data names Crystal Strike, Feng’s Fortune and Fancy Fruits Deluxe as notable Gamomat titles, and a 2023 anniversary report also highlighted Ramses Book, Crystal Ball and Fancy Fruits. Crystal Strike is a 5x4, 20-line respin game launched in January 2021. Ramses Book follows the book format, with an expanding symbol in the bonus. Their RTPs and caps aren’t in our checked data, so we leave them out. Our book slot machines page explains that format.
What RTP do Gamomat slots have?
We don’t hold verified RTP figures for individual Gamomat games, so check the help or info screen of the game at your casino. That figure is the one that applies, because studios can supply more than one approved version. As a guide to what the number means, 100 spins at 20p is £20 staked; at 96% the long-run average cost is 80p, and at 94% it is £1.20. Our guide on how to find a slot’s RTP shows where to look.
Is Gamomat licensed by the Gambling Commission?
Any studio supplying games to British players must hold a Gambling Commission licence, but we haven’t confirmed which account covers Gamomat’s supply company, so we don’t quote a number. You can search the Commission’s public register by company name to see the current status and licence types. Check the casino’s own licence too, because the studio’s licence doesn’t cover the operator. Our pages on the Gambling Commission and slots and what a slot machine licence is explain how it fits together.
How does Crystal Strike work?
Crystal Strike is a Gamomat slot launched in January 2021 with five reels, four rows and 20 fixed paylines, according to its launch report. Its main feature hides Energy Spheres in a crystal cave; when they appear, they trigger respins and spread into large blocks of wilds that can complete several lines at once. The launch report described it as highly volatile, though we haven’t confirmed a rating. Check the help screen for the RTP and maximum win. Our respins and expanding wilds pages explain the mechanics.
Are Gamomat fruit slots like pub fruit machines?
They look similar but work differently. Pub fruit machines are usually Category C, limited to £1 a stake and a £100 prize, and often use holds, nudges and a compensated payout model. Gamomat’s online fruit games use a random number generator with independent spins and a published RTP, and online rules apply: £5 or £2 maximum stakes and a 2.5-second minimum spin. See our difference between slots and fruit machines and the pub fruit machine guide.
Can I play Gamomat slots for free?
Some UK casinos offer free demo play of Gamomat games, but only after you have passed age verification, a requirement in force since May 2019. A demo uses the same maths as the real version, so it is a sensible way to see how a fruit game or Crystal Strike behaves before you stake. Demo credits have no value and nothing can be won. Our demo slots guide and the demo age verification rule explain the details.
What awards has Gamomat won?
Gamomat was named Games Studio of the Year at the IGA awards in 2025 and again in 2026, and a 2023 report said it had been included in a Great Place to Work top 100 ranking for Germany. Awards reflect industry judgement of design and business performance; they don’t tell you anything about a game’s RTP or your chances of winning. For an independent way to compare games, use the published figures. Our guide on how to compare slots and slot reviews: how to read them explain what to look at.
Do Gamomat slots have autoplay in the UK?
No. Autoplay has been banned on online slots in Great Britain since 31 October 2021, so you start every spin on a Gamomat game yourself. The same rules require at least 2.5 seconds per spin, remove turbo and slam-stop, and stop games from celebrating a return equal to or below your stake. These rules matter most on quick, simple games such as fruit slots, which were often played very fast before the change. See our autoplay ban and slot game design rules pages.
