How to claim free spins

To claim free spins at a UK casino you register, pass age and identity checks, make the qualifying deposit or bet with an eligible payment method, then accept or opt in to the spins and open the named slot. Most failed claims come down to the wrong payment method or a missed opt-in, so this guide covers each step and what can go wrong.

Key takeaways

  • Check eligibility first: 18+, new customer, location and payment method.
  • E-wallets and prepaid cards are excluded from several partner offers.
  • Accept or claim within the window, then play the spins on the named game.
  • None of our partners needs a promo code; PlayOJO needs its designated offer link.

Before you claim free spins: five eligibility checks

Every welcome spins offer has conditions that decide whether you qualify at all, and they apply before you have spent a penny. Run through these first.

  • Age. You must be 18 or over, and UK-licensed casinos must verify age and identity before you can deposit or play, including with bonus money.
  • New customer status. Welcome offers are for first accounts. Coral and Ladbrokes are both run by LC International Limited, so holding an account at one may affect eligibility at the other; read the terms.
  • Location. PlayOJO’s offer is for new UK customers excluding Northern Ireland.
  • Payment method. Several offers exclude e-wallets and prepaid cards. This is the commonest reason spins don’t arrive.
  • Other offers. PlayOJO’s spins can’t be combined with other offers and only work through its designated offer link.

The terms for every deal type are explained on the slot offers hub, and our page on free spins with no deposit explains why none of our partners currently offers spins without a deposit.

How to claim free spins: the general steps

  1. Open the offer from the casino’s own promotions page or the designated offer link, and read the full terms before registering.
  2. Register with your real name, address and date of birth; UK casinos run identity checks and may ask for documents.
  3. Choose the welcome offer or opt in if the sign-up form asks; skipping this can leave you without spins.
  4. Set a deposit limit when prompted. Since 31 October 2025 UK casinos must ask you to set a financial limit before your first deposit.
  5. Deposit with a qualifying method. Credit cards can’t be used for gambling in Great Britain, and many offers exclude e-wallets and prepaid cards.
  6. Complete any qualifying play, such as betting £10 on slots, if the offer requires it.
  7. Accept or claim the spins within the window, then open the named slot, where the spins appear as a counter or prompt.
  8. Play the spins at their fixed value and check where the winnings land: cash balance or bonus balance.

Coral’s offer runs from 1 October 2026 to 1 February 2027, and Ladbrokes’ has run since 14 November 2025 until further notice. Coral’s spins need betting £10 on slots on top of the deposit; PlayOJO’s need only the deposit. More detail is on the Coral free spins page, the Ladbrokes free spins page and the PlayOJO free spins page.

Payment methods that stop you claiming free spins

Casinos rarely explain why particular methods are excluded, but whatever the reason, exclusions are the most frequent cause of a failed claim. The ones on our partner offers are:

Deposits that don’t qualify for partner welcome offers
CasinoExcluded from the offer
CoralNeteller, PayPal, Paysafe, Skrill, prepaid cards and certain debit cards
LadbrokesPrepaid cards, PayPal, Paysafe, Neteller, Skrill and Moneybookers
10bet (match bonus)Skrill and Neteller
PlayOJOCheck the offer terms; the offer needs the designated link
Casumo (match bonus)Payment restrictions apply; check the terms

A standard debit card is not excluded as a category at Coral or Ladbrokes, though Coral says certain debit cards are. Both list Pay by Bank, Apple Pay and Google Pay among their deposit methods, but check the full offer terms before relying on them. Credit cards are banned for gambling in Great Britain, including through an e-wallet funded by one, since 14 April 2020; our page on the credit card gambling ban explains the rule. The Coral payment methods page lists the options in full.

Age and identity checks when claiming spins

UK-licensed casinos must verify your age and identity before you can deposit or gamble, including with a bonus or free spins, and before you can play free-to-play demo games. The minimum is name, address and date of birth, usually checked against databases, with documents requested only if those checks can’t confirm you. The Gambling Commission’s guide to age, ID and financial verification (opens in a new tab) sets out what casinos can ask and when.

PlayOJO says it aims to verify documents within 12 hours and to contact support if there is no answer within 48 hours. Documents go through its upload tool, not email. If verification is slow and the offer has an acceptance window, ask support whether the clock pauses; the demo slot age verification page covers how these checks began in May 2019.

Where to find your free spins once claimed

Credited spins are tied to specific games. On PlayOJO’s offer that is Big Bass Bonanza, a Pragmatic Play slot listed at 96.71% RTP, high volatility and a 2,100x max win. Both Entain brands name their selected games in the offer terms, and lists can change, so check the terms rather than assuming. Open the named game and the spins normally show as a counter, a banner or a prompt to start them.

The spins play at the value set by the offer, 10p here, so the stake controls are locked or ignored while they run. Each spin still takes at least 2.5 seconds under the slot game design rules, and there is no autoplay, so expect to press spin for each one. A feature landed during the spins, such as the game’s own free spins feature, plays out at the same 10p stake.

Is it worth claiming free spins? The numbers

Face value is spins × spin value. Coral’s 100 × 10p is £10, Ladbrokes’ maximum 500 × 10p is £50 if every daily batch is claimed, and PlayOJO’s 80 × 10p is £8. At Big Bass Bonanza’s listed 96.71% RTP, £8 of spins returns £7.74 on average over the long run. The qualifying £10 slot bet on Coral or Ladbrokes has its own average cost, about 40p at a 96% RTP.

Averages hide the spread. A high-volatility game paid at 10p can return nothing from 80 spins or several pounds from one feature; the volatility explainer shows why. The no-wagering free spins page explains why offers without wagering are simpler to value.

Claim spins only if you were going to deposit and play anyway. An offer is not a reason to start gambling, and the money you deposit is at risk like any other stake.

After you claim free spins: withdrawals and limits

On no-wagering offers, spin winnings join your balance and can be withdrawn under the normal rules. Neither Coral nor Ladbrokes charges withdrawal fees, according to their help centres; PlayOJO says you can withdraw as little as you want and that most payments are processed within a few hours. Our guide to free spins winnings covers how winnings are credited and paid out.

This is also the moment to check your limits; the Commission’s note on new deposit limit rules (opens in a new tab) explains the prompt you saw before depositing. Deposit limits, reality checks and time-outs are explained in our safer gambling tools guide. Ladbrokes: deposit and spend £10 or more on slots for 50 free spins a day for 10 days (up to 500), 10p each, claim before 23:59 daily, valid 7 days, no wagering. Frequently asked questions

How do I claim free spins at a UK casino?

Register, pass the age and identity checks, deposit with a qualifying payment method and complete any qualifying bet the offer asks for. Then accept or claim the spins within the stated window and open the named game, where they appear as a counter or prompt. Read the full terms first, because excluded payment methods and missed opt-ins are the commonest reasons spins don’t arrive. Our how to play online slots guide explains the game controls you will see once the spins load.

Do I need a promo code to claim free spins?

Not at any of our five partners. Coral’s and Ladbrokes’ spins arrive once you meet the qualifying deposit and slot bet, PlayOJO’s spins work through its designated offer link, Casumo uses an opt-in and 10bet asks you to choose the welcome bonus at sign-up. If a site does use codes, the code and where to enter it should appear in the significant terms. Our Ladbrokes sign-up page shows the registration steps in order, from details to first deposit.

Why haven’t my free spins been credited?

The most likely reasons are an excluded payment method, a missed opt-in, or a qualifying bet that didn’t count. For example, PayPal, Neteller, Skrill, Paysafe and prepaid cards are excluded from both Entain offers. Check your deposit method and the offer terms, then contact support with the time of the deposit and any screenshots. If verification is still pending, spins may wait until it completes. Our Ladbrokes free spins page lists that offer’s exclusions in full.

Will a PayPal deposit trigger free spins?

Not on Coral’s or Ladbrokes’ current welcome offers, which both exclude PayPal deposits. Their terms also exclude Neteller, Skrill, Paysafe and prepaid cards, and Coral excludes certain debit cards. PayPal can still be used for normal deposits and withdrawals at both casinos; it just won’t trigger the offer. For PlayOJO, check the offer terms and use the designated link. The Ladbrokes payment methods page shows which methods are available for everyday deposits.

Does claiming free spins work on a phone?

Yes. The steps are the same in a mobile browser or app: register, verify, deposit with a qualifying method, then accept the spins and open the named slot. All five of our partners have casino apps listed on the UK App Store and Google Play. If you sign up through an app, make sure the welcome offer is selected, as with desktop. Our mobile slots bonus page covers anything that differs on phones and tablets.

Can I claim free spins at both Coral and Ladbrokes?

Possibly not. Coral and Ladbrokes are both run by LC International Limited (part of Entain, UKGC account 54743), and welcome offers are generally restricted to new customers, so one person may not be able to claim new-customer offers at both. Read each offer’s terms on eligibility before opening a second account, and ask support if it isn’t clear. The Coral sign-up page explains the registration process and what the casino checks.

How many free spins can I claim?

Each welcome offer can normally be claimed once per person. On our partners’ deals that is 100 spins with Coral, up to 500 with Ladbrokes (50 a day over 10 days) and 80 with PlayOJO, all at 10p. Ladbrokes’ total depends on how many daily batches you claim; unclaimed days aren’t carried forward. Existing-customer promotions are separate and change often; our page on free spins for existing players explains how those usually work.

Do I have to verify my ID to claim free spins?

Yes. Since May 2019 UK-licensed casinos have had to verify age and identity before you can deposit or gamble, and that includes free spins and bonuses. Most checks happen automatically against databases using your name, address and date of birth; documents are requested only if those can’t confirm you. PlayOJO says it aims to verify uploaded documents within 12 hours. The PlayOJO sign-up page shows what that casino asks for.

Can I claim free spins without depositing?

Not with our partners. Every current partner offer needs a deposit, and Coral and Ladbrokes also need a £10 bet on slots. No-deposit spins do exist elsewhere, and they can come with tighter terms such as winnings caps, and identity checks still apply before you can play. If you only want to try a slot, free demo play is available after age verification. Our demo slots guide explains how that works in the UK.

What stake do claimed free spins play at?

The stake is fixed by the offer, and on all three of our partners’ spins deals it is 10p a spin. You can’t raise it, and on games with adjustable lines the spins play at the configuration the casino has set. Any feature triggered during the spins, such as free games or multipliers, pays at that same 10p base. Our page on 10p free spins explained shows what that stake means for typical wins and the max win.
