Free spins for existing customers

Free spins for existing customers are promotions offered to people who already hold an account, such as opt-in spins, reward schemes and prize games, rather than the welcome offer for new sign-ups. They are less predictable than welcome offers, depend on your marketing choices, and are shaped by UK rules introduced in 2025 and 2026. This page explains how they work, what they are worth and what to check.

Key takeaways

  • Welcome offers are for new customers only; existing-customer spins come through opt-in promotions, rewards schemes and prize games.
  • You only receive offers by email, text or phone if you opted in for that product and channel (rule in force since 1 May 2025).
  • Since 19 January 2026, wagering is capped at 10x and a promotion can’t mix slots with betting, bingo or lottery.
  • Value any spins at their stake: 10 spins at 10p are £1 of play, not £1 of winnings. 18+, terms apply.

What free spins for existing customers are

A welcome offer is a one-off deal for someone opening an account. Once you have used it, or once you have held an account for a while, you are an existing customer and the welcome offer is closed to you. Existing-customer free spins are the promotions casinos use after that point. They come in several shapes, and most require you to opt in or to have agreed to marketing.

Types of free spins for existing customers
TypeHow it usually worksWhat to check
Opt-in spins promotionStake a set amount on named slots, receive a number of spinsQualifying stake, spin value, eligible games, expiry
Reward or loyalty schemePoints or coins from play swapped for spins or prizesHow points are earned and whether they expire
No-stake prize gamesA daily wheel or instant game that can award spins or cashEligibility, prize types, whether winnings are cash
Tournaments or racesLeaderboards on selected slots with prize poolsEntry conditions and how places are scored
Personal offersSpins sent by email or app messageYour marketing preferences and the offer’s own terms

The mechanics of the spins themselves are the same as in any offer: a fixed stake per spin, usually 10p, on games the casino chooses. Our page on how free spins work on slot machines covers the basics, and free spins on slots explains offer spins in general.

What our partners list for existing customers

We only promote our partners’ welcome offers, because existing-customer deals change too often to describe accurately. Their app store listings do describe ongoing features, which give an idea of what current players can expect. These come from the listings, not from offer terms, so check each casino’s promotions page for current conditions.

Since 1 May 2025, remote casino, betting and bingo operators must let you choose marketing by product (casino, betting, bingo) and by channel (email, text, phone) when you register, with every option off by default. Existing customers were asked to confirm their choices when they next logged in. If you didn’t opt in to casino marketing by email, you won’t get casino spins offers by email.

That is a protection, not a loophole to work around. The Commission’s page on how to stop getting gambling marketing texts and emails (opens in a new tab) explains how to change your preferences either way. You can still see public promotions on the casino’s promotions page without opting in to marketing.

Casinos must also stop marketing and stop new bonus take-up where they see strong indicators of harm, a requirement in force since 12 February 2023. If offers dry up after a check-in from the casino, that may be why.

The Commission explained the last two in its January 2026 promotions announcement (opens in a new tab), which also removed time-based changes to an incentive. Our page on what changed for slots in 2025 and 2026 gathers every date in one place, and the 10x wagering cap page explains the cap.

What existing customer free spins are really worth

Existing-customer promotions often ask you to stake something first. To judge them, compare the average cost of the qualifying play with the stake value of the spins. The example below is illustrative, not a real partner offer.

Illustrative opt-in offer: stake £50 on selected slots, get 20 spins at 10p
ItemAmountLong-run average at 96% RTP
Qualifying stakes£50Costs £2.00
Spins received20 × 10p = £2 of stake valueReturns about £1.92
Net effect if you would not otherwise have playedAbout 8p cost on average, with a wide range either way
Net effect if you would have staked £50 anywayAbout £1.92 returned on average

The lesson is simple: an offer that asks you to stake more than you planned isn’t a saving. It only helps if it attaches to play you would have done regardless. The slot cost calculator works out the cost of a planned session, and how long does £100 last on slots shows how stake size changes it.

Daily free spins, expiry and claiming windows

Many current-player promotions are daily or weekly, with short claiming windows. Ladbrokes’ welcome offer shows the format: 50 spins a day for 10 days, each day’s spins claimed before 23:59 and valid for 7 days. Once day ten has passed, you are an existing customer and the offer ends. Unclaimed or unused spins simply lapse; they are never converted to cash.

  • Check the claim deadline and the use-by period separately; they are often different.
  • Spins usually play at a fixed stake and on named games only.
  • Winnings may be cash or bonus funds; any wagering is capped at 10x.
  • Don’t log in just to avoid losing spins if you hadn’t planned to play.

Our pages on daily free spins and free spins expiry explain the timing rules in detail.

Slot tournaments and reel races for existing customers

Tournaments rank players on selected slots and pay prizes, sometimes including spins, to the top places. Casumo’s app listing names Reel Races. Scoring rules vary: some rank the biggest single win relative to stake, others total wins. Because prizes go to the best results among many entrants, most players win nothing extra, and tournaments can encourage faster or longer play than you intended. Read our slot tournaments guide before taking part.

Myths about free spins for existing customers

  • Myth: loyal players get better odds. Every account plays the same game version; rewards are paid outside the game.
  • Myth: complaining or threatening to leave earns spins. Offers depend on the casino’s schemes and your marketing choices, not bargaining.
  • Myth: spins sent after a losing run mean a win is coming. The game has no memory, and the casino can’t change outcomes.
  • Myth: opening a second account gets the welcome offer again. Welcome offers are for new customers only; duplicate accounts break the terms.

How to find and claim existing customer free spins

  1. Log in and open the casino’s promotions or rewards page in the app or on the website.
  2. Opt in to any promotion you want before playing; most don’t apply retroactively.
  3. Read the qualifying stake, eligible games, spin value, claim window and expiry.
  4. Check whether winnings are cash or bonus funds and the wagering, which can’t exceed 10x.
  5. Review your marketing preferences if you want offers by email or text, or turn them off if you don’t.
  6. Keep your deposit limit and reality checks switched on; see what a reality check on slots is.

Frequently asked questions

Can existing customers get free spins?

Yes, existing customers can get free spins, but not through the welcome offer. Current players usually receive spins through opt-in promotions on the casino’s promotions page, reward or loyalty schemes, prize games and personal offers sent to channels they agreed to. Each has its own terms on qualifying stakes, eligible games, spin value and expiry. Offers vary by player and change often, so check the promotions page while logged in. Our page on free spins on slots explains how offer spins work in general.

Why am I not getting free spins offers by email?

You may not be getting offers by email because you haven’t opted in to casino marketing on that channel. Since 1 May 2025, UK operators must ask you to choose marketing by product and by channel, with everything off by default, and existing customers were asked to confirm at their next login. Casinos must also stop marketing where they see strong signs of harm. You can change your preferences in your account settings. Our slot machine safety tools guide covers the other account controls.

Do existing customer free spins have wagering?

Some do and some don’t, so read each offer’s terms. Our three free spins partners pay welcome-offer spin winnings with no wagering, but existing-customer promotions are set separately and may differ. Since 19 January 2026 no UK-licensed casino can require more than 10 times the bonus amount, so £5 of spin winnings would need at most £50 of further play. Older reload deals with 35x or more are no longer allowed. Our free spins winnings page explains cash versus bonus winnings.

Can I get a casino welcome offer again as an existing customer?

No. Welcome offers are for new customers only, and opening a second account to claim one again breaks the terms and can lead to the account being closed under the casino’s rules. Coral and Ladbrokes are both run by LC International Limited, so holding an account at one may affect eligibility at the other. Read the eligibility section before signing up anywhere new. The slot welcome bonus page explains how welcome offers are structured.

Are “bet on sport, get casino spins” offers still allowed?

No. Since 19 January 2026, a single promotion in Great Britain can’t include more than one type of gambling product, so a sports bet that earns casino spins, or a bingo deposit that triggers slot spins, is no longer allowed. Each promotion must stay within one product. This matters most to customers of brands with a sportsbook, such as Coral and Ladbrokes. Casino-only spins offers remain permitted, with wagering capped at 10x. Our UK slot machine rules guide lists the related changes.

What are daily free spins for existing players?

Daily free spins are small batches of spins offered each day, often through a prize wheel, an opt-in promotion or a reward scheme, usually at 10p each on named games. Five spins at 10p a day add up to £15 of stake value over 30 days, which returns about £14.40 on average at 96% RTP. They often need claiming by a daily deadline and lapse if unused. Don’t log in just to avoid losing them. Our daily free spins page explains the format.

Do loyalty schemes give better odds on slots?

No. A loyalty or reward scheme pays you something outside the game, such as points, coins, spins or money back, but every player gets the same game version and the same RTP. The casino can’t change a slot’s results for loyal players, and doing so would breach the technical standards the game is tested against. A scheme’s value is a small reduction in the cost of play, not a change in your chances. Our are slot machines rigged page explains how fairness is tested.

How do I claim free spins as an existing customer?

To claim existing-customer free spins, log in, open the promotions or rewards page and opt in before you play, because most promotions don’t apply to play done before opt-in. Then read the qualifying stake, eligible games, spin value, claim window and expiry, and check whether winnings are cash or bonus funds. Spins normally appear in the game or a rewards area once credited. If they don’t, contact support with the offer name. Our how to claim free spins guide covers each step.

Are slot tournaments a good way to get free spins?

Slot tournaments can award spins or cash to the top finishers, but most entrants win no prize, so they are a weak way to get spins. Scoring rules vary: some rank your biggest win relative to stake, others count total wins, which rewards staking more. That can push you to play faster or longer than planned. Treat entry as part of your normal budget, not a reason to raise it. Our answer to do slot tournaments work explains the scoring systems.

Can a casino stop giving me free spins?

Yes. Promotions are discretionary, and a casino can stop offering them to you, especially if its checks suggest gambling may be causing harm, which UK rules require it to act on. It must stop marketing and new bonus take-up where there are strong indicators of harm. Changing your marketing preferences, setting limits or self-excluding will also end offers. What a casino can’t do is change the terms of a promotion unfairly after you have opted in. Our slot complaints and ADR page explains how to dispute that.
