Booming Games slots come from a Malta-based studio licensed in Great Britain (Gambling Commission account 57254) and best known for its Hold and Win series, its Boost+ side bet and a product line it calls LivePlay Slots. It releases about four games a month. This page explains how its respin features and side bet work, with worked pound examples and the UK rules that shape them.
Booming Games is registered in Birkirkara, Malta, holds Gambling Commission account 57254 and an MGA licence issued on 10 September 2018.
Its Hold and Win games lock coin symbols and reset three respins each time a new one lands; filling the grid pays a fixed top prize.
Boost+ is an optional side bet that raises your stake to improve the chance of a bonus; it costs more per spin and the total must stay within UK stake limits.
With about four releases a month, check each game’s help screen for its RTP, since we hold no checked figures for individual Booming titles.

Who makes Booming Games slots?
Booming Games is a slot studio with its registered office in Birkirkara, Malta. It supplies games to licensed casinos rather than running its own, and its team numbers more than 200 people from 45 nationalities. The company’s press material dates the business to 2014, and its Malta Gaming Authority licence, MGA/B2B/459/2018, was issued on 10 September 2018. It also cites a licence from Sweden’s Spelinspektionen.
Booming releases about four games a month, a fast pace that leans on recurring formats. Rather than reinventing each game, it reuses tested mechanics across new themes and returns to popular ones, such as Irish themes around St Patrick’s Day. Recent examples from 2026 show the pattern.

A fast release schedule means lobbies change often. It is one reason we suggest searching a casino’s lobby for a specific title rather than assuming it is there. Our page on how new slots are released explains the route from studio to casino, and our new slots guide covers what to check on a game you have not seen before.
How Booming Games Hold and Win slots work
Hold and Win is the format Booming is best known for. It is a version of the hold and win respin feature used across the industry, built around coin or cash symbols that carry prize values.
In the base game, coin symbols land with values shown on them, and a collector symbol may gather them or award the bonus.
When enough coins land (three silver coins in Regal Coins Hold and Win), the bonus starts and the triggering coins lock in place.
You get three respins. Only the empty positions spin.
Each new coin that lands locks and resets the respins to three.
When the respins run out, the values on all locked coins are added and paid.
If every position fills, a fixed Grand prize is paid; Booming has set it at 1,000× the bet in both 2026 games above.
Worked example
At a £1 stake, suppose six coins lock with values of 1×, 2×, 2×, 3×, 5× and 10× the bet. The bonus pays 1 + 2 + 2 + 3 + 5 + 10 = 23× the stake, so £23. Each extra coin adds its value and buys three more respins, which is why a bonus that starts slowly can still grow. The values here are an illustration; the real range appears in each game’s paytable. Compare the format with cash collect features, where a collector symbol gathers values instead.
Super Hold and Win and jackpot tiers
Some Booming games add a stronger version of the feature. In Regal Coins Hold and Win, silver coins on reels one and two plus a gold coin on reel three start Super Hold and Win, which uses the same respin rules but doubles all coin values, with a Major coin fixed at 500× the bet. Named fixed prizes like these work like the Mini, Major and Grand tiers on many slots: they are set multiples of the stake, not growing pots, unlike progressive jackpot slots.

What is Boost+ on Booming Games slots?
Boost+ is Booming’s optional side bet. Switching it on raises your stake per spin, and in return the game increases the chance of triggering a bonus. The size of the increase depends on the game: launch material for Greedy for Gold: Hold and Win described a 25% rise, while Regal Coins Hold and Win described the stake rising to 1.5 times. It works like an ante bet.

More bonuses do not make the side bet free value: you pay for the extra chance through the higher stake, and the average cost rises with the amount staked. The UK stake limit applies to the total. If you are 25 or over and Boost+ adds 25%, the highest base bet that keeps you within £5 is £4. For 18–24-year-olds with a £2 limit, it is £1.60. The Commission’s stake limit guidance (opens in a new tab) sets out how limits apply per game cycle.
LivePlay Slots and bonus buys in the UK
Booming also markets a product line it calls LivePlay Slots. We have not confirmed how it works in UK versions, so check the game’s rules if you see the label. Booming’s 2026 releases include bonus-buy options such as a Mystery Bonus and Super Bonus in some markets, but slots at UK-licensed casinos are not supplied with a feature buy, so in Britain the bonus must be triggered in normal play. Our page on bonus buy in the UK explains this.
Every UK version also follows the design rules in force since 31 October 2021, set out in the Commission’s standard on responsible product design (opens in a new tab): no autoplay, at least 2.5 seconds per spin, no turbo or slam-stop, no celebration of returns at or below the stake, and your balance and net position on screen. Free demo play is available only after age verification.
Booming Games RTP and volatility: what to check
No RTP, volatility or max win figure for a single Booming title has passed our two-source check, so none appears on this page. With roughly four releases a month, the reliable source is the help screen of the game in front of you. Hold and Win games concentrate a share of their return in the bonus and its fixed prizes, so dry spells between bonuses are normal. Our guides to how to find a slot’s RTP and volatility explain what to look for.

Frequently asked questions
Is Booming Games licensed in the UK?
Yes. Booming Games holds a Gambling Commission licence under account number 57254, which allows it to supply games to UK-licensed casinos. It also holds a Malta Gaming Authority licence, MGA/B2B/459/2018, issued on 10 September 2018. Licence status can change, so the Commission’s public register is the place to confirm it on any given day. How supplier licences sit alongside casino licences is covered under the Gambling Commission and slots.
How does Hold and Win work on Booming slots?
Hold and Win starts when enough coin symbols land. Those coins lock in place and you get three respins in which only the empty positions spin. Every new coin locks and resets the respins to three. When the respins run out, the coin values are added together and paid; filling the whole grid pays a fixed Grand prize, set at 1,000 times the bet in Booming’s 2026 releases. Our guide to hold and win compares versions across studios.
What is Boost+ on Booming Games?
Boost+ is an optional side bet on some Booming games that raises your stake per spin in exchange for a higher chance of triggering a bonus. Launch material has described increases of 25% and of 1.5 times the stake, depending on the game. You pay for the extra chance through the higher stake, so the average cost of play rises. Your total stake with Boost+ must stay within the UK limit of £5, or £2 if you are 18 to 24. See our page on the ante bet for how similar side bets work.
How many games does Booming Games release?
Booming releases about four games a month, using recurring formats such as Hold and Win across new themes. That pace means the catalogue grows quickly and many games share similar mechanics, so the theme is often the main difference. It also means casino lobbies change often, so a game listed last month may not be there now. Our explainer on how new slots are released covers the route from studio to lobby.
What is the RTP of Booming Games slots?
Booming does not publish one figure for its whole catalogue, and we have not verified RTPs for its individual games. A title can exist in more than one setting, so read the RTP line in the help screen at the casino you use. To put a number in context: at 96%, a hundred £1 spins cost £4 on average over the long run, and switching on a 25% Boost+ lifts that to £5. Our guide on how to find a slot’s RTP shows where to look.
Can I buy the bonus on Booming Games slots in the UK?
No. Some Booming games offer bonus buys such as a Mystery Bonus or Super Bonus in other markets, but slots at UK-licensed casinos are not supplied with a feature buy. In the UK the Hold and Win or free spins bonus has to be triggered in normal play. Boost+ may still be offered, but it raises your stake rather than buying the bonus outright. The bonus buy in the UK page explains this further.
Where is Booming Games based?
Booming Games’ registered office is in Birkirkara, Malta, and its team of more than 200 people spans 45 nationalities. It holds licences from the Malta Gaming Authority and the UK Gambling Commission, and its press material also cites Sweden’s Spelinspektionen. Like most online studios, it supplies games to casinos rather than taking bets directly. For a broader view of where slot studios are based and why, see our explainer on who makes online slots.
What is the biggest prize on Booming Hold and Win slots?
In Booming’s 2026 releases Greedy for Gold: Hold and Win and Regal Coins Hold and Win, the fixed Grand prize for filling the grid is 1,000 times the bet. At a £1 stake that is £1,000, and at the £5 UK maximum for players aged 25 and over it is £5,000. Filling every position is rare, and other games may set different prizes, so check the paytable. Our glossary entry on Mini, Major and Grand explains fixed prize tiers.
Are Booming Games slots fair?
Yes in the technical sense: before a Booming game reaches a UK-licensed casino it is tested against the Commission’s randomness standard, and each spin is independent of the last. Features like Boost+ change the odds of a bonus in a way the game discloses, and you pay for that through a higher stake. Fair does not mean profitable: every slot keeps a house edge, so losses are likely over time. For what that testing can and cannot show, see are slot machines rigged.
