Fat Banker slot machine in brief

Fat Banker joined Push Gaming's ‘Fat’ series alongside Fat Rabbit, Fat Santa and Fat Drac. It was announced on 19 May 2022 and is set in 1920s New York, with top hats, cigars, the banker's wife and his dog as the premium symbols and card suits as the low-paying ones.

The series formula is a wild that grows during free spins by eating other symbols. Fat Banker keeps that idea but adds a lot around it: a bigger 6×6 grid, 50 paylines, instant-prize Bullion symbols, a Silver Safe collector, a random Red Car feature and a respin round called Fortune Link. More moving parts means more ways for the maths to concentrate value into rare outcomes, and it helps explain how the game reaches a 25,000× ceiling.

Fat Banker symbols and what each one does

Fat Banker special symbols
SymbolWhere it landsRole
Fat BankerReel 1 in the base gameWild; substitutes for everything except Silver Safe, Bullion and multiplier symbols
Money Bag wildReels 2–6Wild that can carry a 2×, 3× or 5× multiplier
BullionAny reel except reel 6Instant prize of 1×, 2×, 3×, 5×, 10×, 25×, 50× or 100× stake
Silver SafeReel 6 (the Hot Spot)Collects Bullion values on screen; needed for them to pay
Red CarRandom, after a spinAdds wilds, Money Bags, Bullion, Safes or multipliers

Paylines pay for three or more matching symbols on adjacent reels from the leftmost. With six rows and 50 lines, a single symbol can sit on several lines at once, so a wild symbol on reel 1 often contributes to more than one win.

How Bullion and the Silver Safe pay

Bullion symbols are instant prizes that show a value from 1× to 100× your stake. On their own they pay nothing. A Silver Safe on reel 6 collects every Bullion value on screen, and if a multiplier symbol is also present, the collected total can be boosted.

Worked example

At a 50p stake, suppose a spin shows Bullion worth 2× (£1), 5× (£2.50) and 10× (£5). If no Safe lands on reel 6, those values are simply lost. If a Safe does land, it collects £8.50. If a 3× multiplier is also on screen, the collect becomes £25.50. These numbers illustrate the arithmetic; the frequency of each value is set by the game's maths and is not published.

Seeing several large Bullion values with no Safe is a classic near miss. It looks close, but the outcome was fixed when you pressed spin, and it tells you nothing about the next spin. See slot machine near misses.

The Red Car is a random feature: at the end of a spin it can drive across and add Fat Banker wilds, Money Bag wilds, Bullion, Silver Safes or multipliers to the reels. It can turn a losing spin into a win, but its appearance is part of the same random result as everything else.

Fortune Link is the game's respins round. It starts when a Silver Safe lands in the Hot Spot on reel 6 together with at least one Bullion symbol.

  1. The Safe and the Bullion stay in place.
  2. You receive two respins.
  3. Whenever a new non-blank symbol lands, the respins reset to two.
  4. A Gold Car may appear during the round and place at least one Bullion or multiplier symbol.
  5. When the respins run out, the Bullion values are collected and paid, with any multipliers applied.

This is the same broad shape as a hold and win round, but the collector on reel 6 is what decides whether the prizes count.

Fat Banker free spins: the growing Banker

The Fat Banker free spins round starts when the Banker lands on reel 1 together with any Money Bag wild. You begin with five free spins.

  • Each time a Money Bag wild lands, the Banker moves to it and collects it, filling a progress meter.
  • As the meter fills, the Banker grows, from a single square up to the full 6×6 grid, and extra free spins are awarded.
  • Multipliers on collected Money Bags accumulate, and every win the Banker forms is multiplied by the running total for the rest of the round.
  • The base-game Red Car becomes a Gold Red Car, which places Money Bag wilds or instant prize symbols to grow the Banker further.

This is where the 25,000× ceiling lives: a giant wild covering most of the grid, combined with a high accumulated multiplier, across 50 lines. It is also why the round's value varies so much. A round that never grows the Banker can pay less than the stake that triggered it. Our pages on expanding symbols and wild multipliers explain the components.

Fat Banker RTP and the cost of play

The Fat Banker RTP is 96.43% in its top version, and a 94.45% version also exists. The difference is about two percentage points, which raises the average cost by more than half.

Why one title can sit at two settings is unpacked in the UK slot RTP guide.

Fat Banker max win at UK stake limits

The Fat Banker max win is 25,000 times the stake. That figure describes the best possible free spins round, not a typical one.

Fat Banker maximum win by stake
StakeMax win (25,000×)UK stake rule
10p£2,500Open to all adults
50p£12,500Open to all adults
£1£25,000Open to all adults
£2£50,000Highest stake for ages 18–24
£5£125,000Highest stake for ages 25+

The caps come from the Gambling Commission's stake limit guidance (opens in a new tab): £5 per game cycle from 9 April 2025 and £2 for under-25s from 21 May 2025. Some international listings show a much higher maximum bet, which does not apply in Great Britain.

Fat Banker volatility in practice

Fat Banker is high volatility. With so much value tied up in Bullion that needs a Safe, respins that need a Hot Spot trigger and free spins that need the Banker to grow, the ordinary spin often returns little. Budget for long quiet spells and accept that a session can end without any feature.

UK rules: what you won't see in Fat Banker

International listings mention autoplay, turbo and a bonus buy for Fat Banker. None of these is part of the UK version. British online slots lost autoplay, turbo and slam-stop on 31 October 2021, gained a 2.5-second minimum spin and stopped dressing up returns at or below the stake as wins (the slot game design rules). The spin-time rule is enforced: in June 2026 the Commission announced a settlement with Stakelogic for running slots too fast (opens in a new tab).

Nor can you purchase entry to the bonus rounds: British versions are supplied without a buy feature, so free spins and Fortune Link come only from paid spins.

Fat Banker demo play

A Fat Banker demo is the easiest way to learn what the Safe, Bullion and Red Car look like before you stake money. British-licensed operators verify your age before the demo starts, and its credits have no cash value. With this many rare features, a short demo is especially unrepresentative. Our demo slots guide covers this.

Fat Santa (2018)5×55096.45%Medium to high

The older two are simpler: a growing wild in free spins without Bullion, Safes or a respin round. If you like Push Gaming's style but want something different, Jammin' Jars and Razor Shark are its other best-known titles.

Is Fat Banker worth playing?

Advantages

  • Several features that interact in clear, visible ways
  • Growing Banker gives free spins a strong sense of progress
  • Clear 25,000× ceiling published for the game
  • 96.43% top RTP

Drawbacks

  • High volatility with long quiet spells
  • Bullion often lands without the Safe needed to pay it
  • A 94.45% version is in circulation
  • Many features to learn before the screen makes sense

Fat Banker suits players who enjoy feature-heavy games and accept that they are paying for rare, large outcomes. If you want a calmer session, a medium volatility slot is a better match.

Frequently asked questions

What is the RTP of Fat Banker?

Fat Banker has a top RTP of 96.43%, and a 94.45% version also exists. That is an average long-run cost of £3.57 per £100 staked on the top version and £5.55 on the lower one. The casino decides which version it offers, and the figure is printed in the game rules. RTP is a long-run average over millions of spins; with high volatility, your session result can be far from it. Our RTP variants page explains how one game can have several settings.

How do you trigger Fat Banker free spins?

You trigger Fat Banker free spins by landing the Fat Banker wild on reel 1 at the same time as any Money Bag wild. The round starts with five free spins. Each Money Bag that lands is collected by the Banker, filling a meter that makes him grow and awards extra spins, and Money Bag multipliers build up to boost his wins. A Gold Red Car can add more Money Bags. Whether the trigger lands is random on every spin. See our free spins feature page for the general mechanics.

What is the Fat Banker max win?

The Fat Banker max win is 25,000 times your stake. At 10p that is £2,500, at £1 it is £25,000, at the £2 limit for players aged 18 to 24 it is £50,000, and at the £5 limit for players 25 and over it is £125,000. The ceiling relies on a free spins round in which the Banker grows very large with a high multiplier, so it is extremely rare. For a sense of scale, compare it with the games listed under what slot has the biggest max win.

What does the Silver Safe do in Fat Banker?

The Silver Safe collects the values of all Bullion symbols on screen, and without it Bullion pays nothing. It lands on reel 6, in the area called the Hot Spot. If a multiplier symbol is also present, the collected value can be boosted. A Safe in the Hot Spot together with at least one Bullion also starts the Fortune Link respins. Seeing Bullion with no Safe is a near miss, not a sign that a win is coming. The cash collect feature page explains the collector idea used across many slots.

What is Fortune Link in Fat Banker?

Fortune Link is Fat Banker's respin round, triggered when a Silver Safe lands in the Hot Spot on reel 6 with at least one Bullion symbol. You get two respins, and every new non-blank symbol resets them to two. A Gold Car may appear and place at least one Bullion or multiplier. When the respins run out, the Bullion values are collected with any multipliers. It works much like a hold and win round, with the Safe acting as the collector. Read more on respins.

Is Fat Banker high volatility?

Yes, Fat Banker is high volatility. Much of its return sits in features that need specific combinations, such as a Safe on reel 6 or the Banker landing with a Money Bag, so ordinary spins often return little and quiet spells can be long. When the features do hit, results vary widely. Plan by picking a stake that gives you at least 200 spins from your budget and by setting a stop point in advance. The slot volatility and budgets guide shows how.

Is there a Fat Banker bonus buy in the UK?

No, there is no bonus buy for Fat Banker at UK-licensed casinos. Overseas listings may show a buy option, but it is removed for Great Britain; free spins and Fortune Link have to land naturally. British play also means no autoplay, no turbo and a 2.5-second minimum spin. Your net position is shown throughout. The bonus buy in the UK page explains the background.

Can I play Fat Banker for free?

Yes, once an age check is complete. UK-licensed casinos have had to verify players before free-to-play games since May 2019, and many list a Fat Banker demo. Its balance is pretend money that cannot be paid out. Because Fat Banker's features are rare, a short demo might never show the free spins or Fortune Link, so it is not a guide to how the real game will pay. It is useful for learning the symbols. Our page on whether free slot games are the same as real ones explains the differences.

Who makes Fat Banker?

Push Gaming makes Fat Banker. The studio was founded in 2010, is based in London with an office in Malta, and holds a Gambling Commission licence. LeoVegas Group, part of MGM Resorts, announced a majority stake in it in May 2023. Push Gaming is best known for Jammin' Jars, Razor Shark and Big Bamboo, and for its ‘Fat’ series, which Fat Banker joined in 2022. Our Push Gaming provider page covers its history and signature mechanics.

How many paylines does Fat Banker have?

Fat Banker has 50 fixed paylines on a grid of six reels and six rows. All lines are active on every spin, and wins pay for three or more matching symbols on adjacent reels starting from the left. The Fat Banker wild appears on reel 1 in the base game, so it can contribute to several lines at once. During free spins, the Banker can grow to cover much of the grid, which is how big line wins become possible. Our paylines explainer shows how lines are mapped.
