Key takeaways

  • Le Pharaoh pays on 19 lines across six reels and five rows, with a listed RTP of 96.18% and medium volatility (3 of 5).
  • Every win sticks and re-drops; the squares it covered turn gold, and a Rainbow on the grid converts them into coin prizes.
  • Three, four or five FS scatters lead to a choice of bonus: two standard, two Super and one Epic round.
  • The 15,000x cap is worth £30,000 at the £2 stake limit for 18–24s and £75,000 at the £5 limit for older players.
  • In the UK the bonuses can only be reached by landing scatters: there is no bonus buy, no autoplay and every spin lasts at least 2.5 seconds.

The Le Pharaoh slot at a glance

Le Pharaoh is the Egyptian entry in a run of “Le” games from Hacksaw Gaming, following titles such as Le Bandit and Le Viking. The grid is six reels wide and five rows deep, giving 30 positions, and 19 fixed paylines run across it. The art borrows gold, pyramids and lucky charms, but the play is all about two linked mechanics: wins that stay on screen, and coins that appear where those wins were.

Hacksaw rates the game 3 out of 5 for volatility, which is the middle of its scale. Yet the top prize is a 15,000x multiple of the stake, which tells you that a small share of rounds carry most of the return. Read the game the way you would any Egyptian slot machine with collect mechanics: steady small results, rare large ones.

Sticky Re-drops: how a Le Pharaoh spin builds

On Hacksaw’s own Le Pharaoh page, the base game is described as a chain. When a winning combination lands, its symbols stay put and the rest of the grid drops again. Any paying symbols that extend that win, or form a new one, also stick and trigger another re-drop. This continues until a drop adds nothing new, and then all the wins are paid together.

  1. You start a spin and the grid fills with symbols.
  2. A line win lands; those symbols lock as sticky symbols.
  3. Every other position drops again.
  4. New matching symbols that extend a win, or create another, lock too and earn a further drop.
  5. When a drop adds nothing, every locked win is paid.
  6. Each square covered by a sticky paying symbol becomes a Golden Square for the rest of that spin.

The Wild substitutes for all paying symbols, which helps chains continue. Rainbow and FS scatter symbols that land during a chain also stick, but they do not create Golden Squares. All sticky symbols and Golden Squares clear at the start of the next paid spin, so nothing carries over between spins in the base game.

Golden Riches: what the Rainbow symbol does

If a Rainbow symbol is on the grid when the re-drops finish, Golden Riches starts. Every Golden Square turns over to reveal a coin, and sometimes a clover or a Pot Of Gold. This is a cash collect mechanic: the prize is the sum of the values shown, multiplied by your stake.

Le Pharaoh coin values listed by Hacksaw (multiples of the bet)
CoinPossible values
Bronze0.2x, 0.5x, 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x
Silver5x, 10x, 15x, 20x
Gold25x, 50x, 100x, 250x, 500x

Two kinds of clover change those values. A Green Clover multiplies the coins and Pots Of Gold next to it by between x2 and x20, while a Golden Clover multiplies every coin and Pot Of Gold on the grid by between x2 and x20. A Pot Of Gold collects the values of all coins and other pots, working top to bottom and left to right. Any Golden Squares that have not yet turned then reactivate, and the cycle repeats until nothing new appears.

A worked Golden Riches example at 20p

Say a chain of re-drops leaves six Golden Squares and a Rainbow on the grid. They reveal Bronze 1x, Bronze 2x, Silver 5x, Bronze 0.5x, Bronze 0.2x and a Green Clover showing x3 that sits next to the Silver and the Bronze 2x. The clover lifts those two to 15x and 6x, so the total is 1 + 6 + 15 + 0.5 + 0.2 = 22.7x. At 20p that is £4.54, paid on top of the line wins from the chain. This example is illustrative; the values on any spin are drawn at random from the listed ranges.

Seeing a Rainbow and several Golden Squares does not mean a large coin total is coming. The values are decided by the game’s random number generator like every other part of the result.

Le Pharaoh free spins and bonus choices

FS scatters lead to the bonus rounds, and the number you land sets your options. Three scatters give a choice between Luck of the Pharaoh and Lost Treasures; four give a choice between the Super versions of each; five go straight to the Epic bonus, Rainbow Over the Pyramids.

The five Le Pharaoh bonus rounds
BonusScattersStartWhat is different
Luck of the Pharaoh3 (choice)10 free spinsRe-drops and Golden Riches stay; Golden Squares remain lit until the round ends
Lost Treasures3 (choice)3 livesCoin-only grid with Stone Tablets; no paying symbols
Super Luck of the Pharaoh4 (choice)12 free spinsBetter odds of high coins and pots; a clover always appears when Golden Riches activates
Super Lost Treasures4 (choice)3 livesAn Adding Stone Tablet on the first spin and better odds of high coins
Rainbow Over the Pyramids512 free spinsA Rainbow lands on every spin

In the three free spins variants, more scatters add spins: two add 2 and three add 4. The key change from the base game is that Golden Squares do not reset after Golden Riches fires. They stay highlighted until the round ends, so the board gets steadily more gold and every later Rainbow has more squares to work with.

Lost Treasures: the lives-based coin bonus

Lost Treasures plays nothing like the free spins rounds. The paying symbols and scatters are removed, and the reels carry only coins, clovers, Pots Of Gold, two kinds of Stone Tablet and blank “dead” symbols. You begin with three lives. Each spin uses one, and any symbol other than a blank resets the count to three. The round ends after three spins in a row with no refill, or when every position is filled.

Coins and pots stay on the grid until a pot collects them or the round ends. Stone Tablets stay too and act on every spin: the Adding Tablet adds between 1x and 500x to one random coin, and the Multiplying Tablet multiplies one random coin by x2 to x20. That makes Lost Treasures a close relative of the hold and win format, with tablets working as persistent modifiers.

Le Pharaoh RTP: what 96.18% costs per 100 spins

The Le Pharaoh RTP in our facts is 96.18%. Over a very long run, the game is designed to return £96.18 of every £100 staked, so the house edge is 3.82%. Some casinos may run a lower version, which the help screen will show.

Le Pharaoh long-run average cost per 100 spins
StakeTotal stakedAverage cost at 96.18%
10p£1038p
20p£2076p
50p£50£1.91
£1£100£3.82
£2£200£7.64
£5£500£19.10

Those are averages over millions of spins. In a short session, the result depends mostly on whether a bonus lands and how the coins fall. Our guide to how long £100 lasts on slots explains why two players at the same stake can see very different outcomes.

Le Pharaoh max win at UK stake limits

Hacksaw caps the Le Pharaoh max win at 15,000 times the stake. Online slots in Great Britain are capped at £5 per spin for players aged 25 and over, and at £2 per spin for those aged 18 to 24, as set out in the Gambling Commission’s stake limit guidance (opens in a new tab).

Le Pharaoh 15,000x cap in pounds
Stake per spinMaximum single-round payout
10p£1,500
£1£15,000
£2 (limit for ages 18–24)£30,000
£5 (limit for ages 25+)£75,000

The cap is a ceiling, not a target. Reaching it would need gold coins, clovers and pots to combine in one bonus, and the game will end the feature and pay the capped amount if that happens. See max win caps for how studios set them.

Le Pharaoh demo and how to read the help screen

A Le Pharaoh demo is a useful way to watch the re-drop chain and the bonus choices before staking money. In Great Britain, play-for-free versions are only available after age verification, a rule in force since May 2019. The demo uses the real game’s maths, so it shows behaviour, not future results.

  1. Open the game and select the menu or information icon.
  2. Read the Sticky Re-drops and Golden Riches pages to confirm the coin values.
  3. Scroll to the theoretical RTP line and compare it with 96.18%.
  4. Check the maximum win line, which should read 15,000x the bet.
  5. Confirm that the bonus pages list scatter triggers only, with no purchase option.

How the UK version of Le Pharaoh differs

Hacksaw supplies many markets where bonus rounds can be bought. Slots at UK-licensed casinos do not offer that, so in Great Britain the only route into Luck of the Pharaoh, Lost Treasures or the Epic bonus is landing FS scatters. The Gambling Commission’s online game design rules (opens in a new tab) also apply since 31 October 2021: no autoplay, no turbo or slam-stop, a minimum of 2.5 seconds per spin, and no celebration of returns that are equal to or smaller than the stake.

In practice, the re-drop animation runs inside that game cycle. A chain of several drops can take longer than 2.5 seconds, but no spin can be shorter. You can read more on our slot game design rules page.

Le Pharaoh slot machine myths

  • “Golden Squares build up between spins.” In the base game they clear at the start of each new spin. Only during the free spins rounds do they stay lit.
  • “Choosing Lost Treasures pays more.” Each option is a different shape of risk. Hacksaw has not published a return for each choice, so no option can be shown to be better.
  • “After a long run without scatters, the bonus is close.” Spins are independent. Our page on whether slot machines remember past spins explains why.
  • “The medium rating means small wins only.” A 15,000x cap on a medium-rated game shows that the rating describes the typical session, not the ceiling.

Who the Le Pharaoh slot suits

Advantages

  • A choice of bonus lets you pick fixed spins or a lives-based round
  • Re-drops make base-game wins more visible and easier to follow
  • 15,000x ceiling on a game rated medium
  • Hacksaw publishes the coin ranges, so the maths is transparent

Drawbacks

  • Several overlapping mechanics take time to learn
  • Most of the value sits in rare coin-heavy bonuses
  • Lower-RTP versions may be in use at some casinos
  • Five bonus types make it harder to judge how a session is going

It suits players who enjoy reading a rules screen and want variety in the bonus. If you would rather have one simple feature, a classic free spins game will feel more direct.

Le Pharaoh shares its family resemblance with Le Bandit and Le Viking, both rated medium in our facts with 10,000x caps. Dork Unit is an older Hacksaw line game built around wild multipliers rather than coins. For other Egyptian-themed titles, Book of Dead and Legacy of Ra Megaways take very different routes, and our full slot machine guides list every game we cover.

Where to play the Le Pharaoh slot in the UK

We cannot confirm that a specific partner lists Le Pharaoh today, so search the casino’s lobby, because game availability changes. Coral offers 100 free spins at 10p each to new players who deposit and bet £10 or more on slots; the spins are on selected games, must be accepted within 48 hours and last 7 days. Ladbrokes gives 50 free spins a day for ten days (up to 500, 10p each) after you spend £10 on slots. PlayOJO gives 80 free spins at 10p on Big Bass Bonanza with a first deposit of at least £10. Winnings from all three are paid without wagering, and none of the spins is played on Le Pharaoh.

Every offer is for customers aged 18+ and full terms apply, including payment methods that do not qualify. Coral and Ladbrokes share an operator, so read the terms on holding both accounts. Slots are paid entertainment and losses over time are likely; set a deposit limit first, and use GAMSTOP (opens in a new tab) if you want to block all UK-licensed gambling sites. Frequently asked questions

What is the Le Pharaoh RTP?

Our verified facts list the Le Pharaoh RTP at 96.18%. That figure means the game returns about £96.18 for every £100 staked over millions of spins, leaving a long-run average cost of £3.82 per £100. Individual sessions can be far better or worse because most of the value sits in the bonus rounds. Casinos may run lower versions, so check the game’s help screen at the casino you use. Our guide to reading slot RTP in the UK shows where the figure appears.

What is the Le Pharaoh max win?

The Le Pharaoh max win is 15,000 times your stake. At UK stake limits that is £30,000 for players aged 18 to 24, whose maximum stake is £2, and £75,000 for players aged 25 and over at £5. At a 10p stake the cap is worth £1,500. Reaching it needs high-value coins, clovers and pots to combine in one round, which is very rare, and the game ends the feature when the cap is hit. Our max win caps page explains how this works.

How do you trigger Le Pharaoh free spins?

Land three or more FS scatter symbols in the base game. Three scatters offer a choice of Luck of the Pharaoh (10 free spins) or Lost Treasures; four offer the Super versions; five award Rainbow Over the Pyramids, with 12 free spins and a Rainbow on every spin. In the free spins rounds, two more scatters add 2 spins and three add 4. You cannot buy any of these rounds at UK-licensed casinos. Our page on what triggers a bonus round explains how triggers are decided.

What does the Rainbow symbol do in Le Pharaoh?

The Rainbow starts Golden Riches. If it is on the grid when the sticky re-drops finish, every Golden Square turns into a Bronze, Silver or Gold coin, or occasionally a clover or Pot Of Gold. Bronze coins run from 0.2x to 4x the bet, Silver from 5x to 20x and Gold from 25x to 500x. Clovers multiply coin values, and pots collect them. Without a Rainbow, the Golden Squares simply clear at the next spin. The cash collect page covers this kind of mechanic.

Should I pick Luck of the Pharaoh or Lost Treasures?

There is no option that can be shown to pay more, because Hacksaw has not published a separate return for each. Luck of the Pharaoh gives a fixed 10 spins with re-drops and Golden Riches, and Golden Squares stay lit for the whole round. Lost Treasures removes the paying symbols and runs on three lives, so it can end quickly or last a long time. Pick the shape of round you enjoy. Our volatility guide explains why rounds with the same average can feel so different.

Is there a Le Pharaoh demo?

Many casinos offer a Le Pharaoh demo, but in Great Britain you must pass age verification before playing any free demo, a rule in force since May 2019. The demo uses the same maths as the real-money game, so it is a fair way to learn the re-drops, Golden Riches and the five bonus rounds. Demo credits have no value and cannot be withdrawn, and demo results do not hint at what will happen with real stakes. Our demo slots guide explains more.

Is Le Pharaoh high volatility?

No. Hacksaw rates Le Pharaoh 3 out of 5, which is medium volatility. Base-game wins from the sticky re-drops arrive fairly often, but large results depend on coins and clovers combining, mainly in the bonus rounds, and the 15,000x cap shows how far the top end can stretch. A medium rating still allows long losing runs, so budget for the whole session rather than expecting steady returns. See medium volatility slot machines for comparisons.

Can I buy the Le Pharaoh bonus in the UK?

No. Slots supplied to UK-licensed casinos do not include a bonus buy, so the only way into the Le Pharaoh bonus rounds is landing FS scatters during normal play. Overseas versions and videos may show buy options, which is why the feature appears in some reviews. The UK version also has no autoplay or turbo, and every spin takes at least 2.5 seconds under rules in force since 31 October 2021. Our page on bonus buy in the UK has the background.

How many paylines does Le Pharaoh have?

Le Pharaoh has 19 fixed paylines on a grid of six reels and five rows. All 19 are active on every spin, and you set a single total bet rather than a bet per line. Paylines decide which symbols form a win, and each win then becomes sticky and triggers a re-drop, so lines matter more here than in a pay-anywhere game. Our guide to paylines explains how fixed lines are drawn and read.

When was Le Pharaoh released?

Le Pharaoh was released by Hacksaw Gaming in September 2024. It belongs to the studio’s run of “Le” titles, which includes Le Bandit and Le Viking, moving the series to an Egyptian setting. Newer does not mean better odds: the RTP of 96.18% and the medium rating are what matter, and both can be checked in the help screen. Our article on whether new slots are better than old ones looks at this question.
