Red Tiger slots

Red Tiger slots come from a studio founded in 2014 and owned by Evolution since December 2020, known for jackpots that must drop by a deadline and for Megaways remakes of NetEnt classics. Below are the published figures for ten of its games, what they cost per 100 spins, and how much the top prizes are worth at UK stake limits.

Key takeaways

  • Red Tiger was founded in 2014, bought by NetEnt in September 2019 and became part of Evolution when Evolution took over NetEnt in December 2020.
  • Many of its best-known games publish RTPs below 96%, from 94.76% to 97.66% in our checked data, so the help screen matters.
  • Its Megaways remakes of Gonzo’s Quest, Piggy Riches and Blood Suckers carry far bigger max wins than the originals.
  • Daily drop jackpots must be paid by a set time, but that does not make any individual spin more likely to win.

Who is behind Red Tiger slots?

Red Tiger is an online slot studio founded in 2014. At the time it was sold it had operations in Malta, the Isle of Man and Bulgaria. NetEnt bought it in September 2019 for an initial £200m, and when Evolution completed its takeover of NetEnt in December 2020, Red Tiger came with it. Today it sits inside the Evolution group (opens in a new tab) alongside NetEnt, Big Time Gaming and Nolimit City.

That family tree explains a lot about the catalogue. Red Tiger has remade several NetEnt favourites in Megaways form, using a format Big Time Gaming invented. If you want to understand where any studio fits among casinos, aggregators and suppliers, our page on what a slot provider is is a good starting point, and the full slot providers hub lists the others we cover.

How Red Tiger daily drop jackpots work

A daily drop is a type of must-drop jackpot. Instead of growing until someone happens to hit it, the pot has a deadline: it must be paid before a set time, often once a day, and a new pot is then seeded. A small slice of every qualifying stake feeds it, which is part of the RTP you see in the help screen. Our page on how jackpots are funded shows where that slice comes from.

  1. The jackpot starts from a seed amount at the beginning of its cycle.
  2. Each qualifying spin on a linked game adds a small contribution.
  3. Typically the system picks, at random, a point before the deadline at which the pot will be paid.
  4. The spin that crosses that point wins the jackpot.
  5. A fresh pot is seeded and the cycle restarts.

The deadline creates a common myth: that playing late in the day, near the drop time, is a smart move. It isn’t a way to gain an edge. Thousands of spins from many players feed the same pot, so your chance of being the one spin that lands it remains tiny, and the base game’s house edge still applies to every stake. See slot machine myths for more on why no slot is ever “due”.

Red Tiger Megaways slots: remakes of NetEnt classics

Because Red Tiger and NetEnt share an owner, Red Tiger has been able to rebuild NetEnt hits on the Megaways engine, where each of six reels shows a random number of symbols on each spin and the ways to win can reach 117,649. The remakes keep the theme and symbols but change the maths a great deal.

NetEnt originals versus Red Tiger Megaways remakes
GameOriginal RTPOriginal max winMegaways RTPMegaways max win
Gonzo’s Quest95.97%2,500×95.77%21,000×
Blood Suckers98.00%1,014×97.66%20,521×

In both cases the top prize multiplies roughly tenfold or more while the RTP barely moves. The same total return is shared out differently: more of it is held back for rare, large outcomes and less goes into small regular wins. That is a higher-volatility profile. Our side-by-side of Gonzo’s Quest and Gonzo’s Quest Megaways works through the difference in detail, and the original Blood Suckers page shows the low-volatility starting point.

Red Tiger RTP and volatility habits

Red Tiger’s published RTPs run lower than some studios’. Eight of the ten games above sit below 96%, and Cash Volt is listed at 94.78% with versions from about 91% to 96%. Lower RTP means a higher average cost per spin. The table shows the long-run average cost of 100 spins at £1, which is simply the stake multiplied by the house edge.

SlotRTPHouse edgeAverage cost
Blood Suckers Megaways97.66%2.34%£2.34
Mystery Reels96.24%3.76%£3.76

Dragon’s Fire95.25%4.75%£4.75
Cash Volt94.78%5.22%£5.22
Dynamite Riches94.76%5.24%£5.24

These are averages over a very long run. With high volatility, a 100-spin session can easily lose most of its £100 or, occasionally, pay well above it. Casinos may also run a lower RTP variant than the figure shown here, which is why checking the help screen is worth the minute it takes; our guide to finding a slot’s RTP shows where to look.

Red Tiger max win at UK stake limits

UK rules cap online slot stakes at £5 a spin for players aged 25 and over and £2 for those aged 18–24, as set out in the Gambling Commission’s stake limit guidance (opens in a new tab). Multiplying the published max win by those stakes gives the theoretical ceiling. These outcomes are extremely rare.

Other Red Tiger slot features worth knowing

Beyond jackpots and Megaways, a few recurring ideas run through the catalogue. Cash Volt adds symbols that pay anywhere on the screen on top of its 20 lines, a hybrid covered on our pays anywhere slots page. Pirates’ Plenty grows from five reels to six. Piggy Riches 2 Megaways uses a Hold & Respin bonus triggered by Lady Pig scatters, a variant of hold and win. Trillionaire Megaways uses expanding wilds with multipliers.

Red Tiger slots and UK rules

Every Red Tiger game offered at a UK-licensed casino follows the rules in force since 31 October 2021: no autoplay, at least 2.5 seconds per spin, no turbo or slam-stop, no celebration of wins that return the stake or less, and a visible balance and net position. Slots at UK-licensed casinos are not supplied with a feature buy, so Megaways free spins have to be triggered in normal play; see bonus buy in the UK.

Licensing also covers the wider group. In July 2026 the Commission announced that Evolution Malta Holding Limited would pay £4.75m (opens in a new tab) after Evolution games appeared on unlicensed sites accessible in Great Britain. It is a reminder to play only at casinos holding a Commission licence, which you can confirm on the public register.

Are Red Tiger slots worth playing?

Advantages

  • Big choice of Megaways games with large top prizes.
  • Must-drop jackpots give a clearer idea of when a pot will pay.
  • Familiar NetEnt themes in new formats.
  • Blood Suckers Megaways has a high published RTP of 97.66%.

Drawbacks

  • Several games publish RTPs below 96%.
  • Most titles are high volatility, so budgets can go quickly.
  • Jackpot contributions come out of the RTP, not on top of it.
  • Lower RTP versions may be in use.

If you like long-shot, feature-led games and accept the cost, Red Tiger’s Megaways range fits. If you want steadier play, Mystery Reels (medium–high) or Cash Volt (medium) are calmer, and our slot volatility and budgets guide explains how to size a session.

Where to play Red Tiger slots in the UK

Red Tiger games are widely supplied to UK-licensed casinos, but availability changes, so search each casino’s lobby for the game you want rather than assuming it is there. Frequently asked questions

Who owns Red Tiger?

Red Tiger is owned by Evolution. NetEnt bought the studio in September 2019 for an initial £200m, and Evolution acquired NetEnt in December 2020, bringing Red Tiger into the group. Its sister studios are NetEnt, Big Time Gaming and Nolimit City. The studio was founded in 2014 and had operations in Malta, the Isle of Man and Bulgaria when it was sold. See our pages on NetEnt slots and Big Time Gaming slots for the rest of the family.

What is a Red Tiger daily drop jackpot?

A daily drop is a jackpot that must be won before a set deadline, after which a new pot starts. Each qualifying stake adds a little to it, and the system chooses at random a point before the deadline at which the pot pays. It does not mean your spin is more likely to win as the deadline nears, because many players feed the same pot. Our guide to must drop jackpot slots explains the mechanics, and what happens when a jackpot is won covers the payout.

What is the RTP of Red Tiger slots?

Red Tiger RTPs in our checked data range from 94.76% (Dynamite Riches) to 97.66% (Blood Suckers Megaways). Eight of the ten best-known games we list sit below 96%. Some games come in several versions; Cash Volt, for example, exists from about 91% to 96%. The figure that counts is the one in the help screen of the game you open. Read what is a good RTP for a slot and our explainer on RTP for how to use the number.

What is the biggest max win on a Red Tiger slot?

Of the games we hold figures for, Trillionaire Megaways has the largest published max win at 35,841 times the stake. At the £5 UK limit for players aged 25 and over that is £179,205, and at the £2 limit for 18 to 24-year-olds it is £71,682. A result like that is extremely rare, and some casinos cap payouts. Gonzo’s Quest Megaways (21,000×) and Blood Suckers Megaways (20,521×) follow. Our page on which slot has the biggest max win compares other studios, and Trillionaire Megaways has the full breakdown.

Did Red Tiger make the original Gonzo’s Quest?

No. The original Gonzo’s Quest is a NetEnt game with a 95.97% RTP and a 2,500× max win. Red Tiger made the 2020 Megaways remake, which publishes a 95.77% RTP and a 21,000× max win. The two studios share a parent company, Evolution, which is why the remake was possible. The Megaways version is more volatile because its return is weighted towards rare large outcomes. Compare them in our Gonzo’s Quest vs Gonzo’s Quest Megaways guide, or read the original Gonzo’s Quest page.

Are Red Tiger slots fair?

Red Tiger games sold into UK-licensed casinos go through pre-release testing against the Commission’s randomness rules, so no spin is linked to the one before. Fair does not mean profitable: every game keeps a house edge, between 2.34% and 5.24% for the titles in our table, so losses are likely over time. Play only at casinos holding a Commission licence. Our articles on whether slot machines are rigged and on how machines are tested explain more.

Can I buy the bonus on Red Tiger Megaways slots in the UK?

No. Slots at UK-licensed casinos are not supplied with a bonus buy, so the free spins in Red Tiger Megaways games have to be triggered by landing the scatters in normal play. Some overseas versions include a buy option, which is why videos online may show one. In the UK the cost of reaching a feature comes only from ordinary spins at no more than £5 each, or £2 if you are 18 to 24. Our page on bonus buy in the UK explains this, and how many spins until a bonus covers trigger rates.

Which Red Tiger slot has the highest RTP?

Blood Suckers Megaways has the highest published RTP among the Red Tiger games we list, at 97.66%, though lower versions exist. At £1 a spin, 100 spins stake £100 and cost £2.34 on average over the long run, compared with £5.24 on Dynamite Riches. Remember the game is a Megaways title with a 20,521× max win, so short sessions vary widely. See our Blood Suckers Megaways page and our list of high RTP slot machines for comparisons.

Is Red Tiger the same as NetEnt?

No, they are separate studios with their own catalogues, but both are owned by Evolution. NetEnt bought Red Tiger in 2019, and Evolution bought NetEnt in 2020. The link shows in Red Tiger’s Megaways remakes of NetEnt games such as Gonzo’s Quest, Piggy Riches and Blood Suckers. In casino lobbies the games usually appear under their own studio names. Compare the two on our NetEnt slots page and read what a slot sequel is for how remakes differ from sequels.
