The Cash Volt slot is a 2020 Red Tiger game with an electric retro look, 20 paylines and one central feature: Cash Volt symbols that pay a prize when six or more land anywhere on the 5 × 3 screen. A full screen of them pays the 2,500x max win. Here is how the prize ladder works, what the RTP versions mean and what a session costs.
Cash Volt is a line slot with one extra prize: 6 to 15 Cash Volt symbols anywhere pay from 5x to 2,500x the stake.
2x2 and 3x3 Super Cash Volt symbols count each square they cover, which is how big counts happen.
The commonly listed RTP is 94.78%, with versions from about 91% to 96%; the casino's help screen shows which one you're on.
Volatility is medium, and there is no free spins round in Red Tiger's description of the game.
Max win is 2,500x: £250 at 10p, £5,000 at £2 and £12,500 at £5.

About the Cash Volt slot
Red Tiger released Cash Volt in 2020; the developer's listing dates it to 2 July 2020. Red Tiger was founded in 2014, bought by NetEnt in 2019 and has been part of Evolution since December 2020, which makes it a sister studio of NetEnt, Big Time Gaming and Nolimit City. This is one of its simpler games: neon lightning bolts, classic-feeling symbols and a single feature that is easy to follow.
That simplicity is the point. Many modern slots stack three or four bonus systems on top of each other. Cash Volt uses an ordinary line game and adds one pay-anywhere prize, which makes it a good example of how a single feature can carry most of a game's excitement and a large share of its volatility.
How the Cash Volt slot machine pays
Every spin is assessed in two ways at once. First, the 20 fixed paylines are checked for matching symbols from left to right. Second, the game counts how many Cash Volt symbols are anywhere in view. Both kinds of win are paid on the same spin.
Choose a total stake; it covers all 20 lines.
Spin. The random number generator fixes every reel position before the animation starts.
Line wins are paid from the paytable for matching symbols on adjacent reels from reel 1.
The Cash Volt symbols are counted across all 15 positions, with each square of a Super symbol counting as one.
If the count is 6 or more, the matching prize from the ladder below is added.
The total is credited, and the next spin can begin once 2.5 seconds have passed, the UK minimum.
The Cash Volt symbol prize ladder
Red Tiger's game page lists the prize for each count of Cash Volt symbols. These behave like scatter symbols: position doesn't matter, only the total in view.

The ladder is steep. Going from 6 to 10 symbols multiplies the prize by 20, and the last step from 14 to 15 more than doubles it. This shape is typical of a feature built to concentrate value in rare outcomes: frequent small prizes at the bottom, and occasional large ones at the top.
Super Cash Volt symbols explained
Cash Volt symbols also arrive as 2x2 and 3x3 Super symbols, a version of the colossal symbols idea. Red Tiger's description says each part of a Super symbol counts as an individual Cash Volt symbol toward the prize. A 2x2 block adds 4 to the count; a 3x3 block adds 9.
Worked example
Say you stake 50p. A 3x3 Super Cash Volt lands across reels 2 to 4, covering 9 positions, and two single Cash Volt symbols land on reels 1 and 5. The count is 9 + 2 = 11, which the ladder pays at 250x, so £125 is added to any line wins on that spin. Had only one single symbol landed, the count would be 10 and the prize 100x, or £50. One position makes a £75 difference, which shows how sharply the ladder rises.
The example shows how the count works, not how often it happens. Red Tiger doesn't publish the odds of each count, and we won't estimate them.
Does Cash Volt have free spins or a bonus round?
Red Tiger's description of Cash Volt covers the line game, the Cash Volt prize ladder and the Super symbols, and mentions no free spins round. In practice, the Cash Volt count is the bonus: it is the feature that pays the large amounts, and it can happen on any spin rather than inside a separate round.
This makes Cash Volt different from most modern slots, where much of the RTP is hidden inside a feature you have to trigger first. If you prefer a game where the base spins themselves can deliver the top prize, this structure may appeal. If you enjoy the build-up of a bonus round, a game such as Mystery Reels or Dynamite Riches from the same studio may suit you better.
Cash Volt RTP: which version are you playing?
The most commonly listed RTP for this game is 94.78%, with versions ranging from about 91% to 96%. Red Tiger's own game page shows 95.71%. That spread is normal for Red Tiger, which supplies several RTP variants of the same game so each casino can choose one. The game you open uses one of them, and the figure is shown in the help screen.

The table shows why the version matters: at 20p a spin, the long-run cost of 100 spins more than doubles between a 96% and a 91% setting. Over a short session, luck still dominates, but over many sessions the RTP difference adds up. Our guide to reading slot RTP in the UK explains what to do with the number once you have found it.

Cash Volt myths: counts, charges and timing
"Five Cash Volts means the sixth is coming." Each spin is drawn fresh. Five symbols is simply a spin that missed the ladder; see near misses.
"The machine charges up between big hits." The theme suggests charging, but nothing builds up between spins. Read do slot machines remember past spins.
"Some casinos have a loose Cash Volt." Casinos can choose an RTP version, and that is shown in the help screen; there is no hidden 'loose' setting. See loose and tight slot machines.
"Stopping the spin early changes the count." UK games no longer have slam-stop, and the result was fixed before the reels moved.

UK rules that apply to Cash Volt online
Red Tiger's listing shows a feature buy toggle and a bet range up to €50 for some markets. In Great Britain, stakes are capped at £5 a spin for players aged 25 and over and £2 for those aged 18 to 24, as set out in the Gambling Commission's online slots stake limit guidance (opens in a new tab). Slots supplied to Great Britain also don't offer feature buys; see bonus buy in the UK.
Since 31 October 2021 the Commission's remote technical standards (opens in a new tab) have banned autoplay, turbo and slam-stop, set a 2.5-second minimum spin and stopped games celebrating returns that are no bigger than the stake. All of those apply to Cash Volt; our slot game design rules page summarises them.

Frequently asked questions
What is the Cash Volt RTP?
Cash Volt's RTP depends on the version your casino uses. The commonly listed figure is 94.78%, with versions ranging from about 91% to 96%, and Red Tiger's own game page shows 95.71%. The difference matters over time: at 20p a spin, 100 spins cost about £1.80 on average at 91% but about 80p at 96%. The exact figure for the game you are playing is in its help screen. For background on why one game has several settings, see our page on RTP variants.
What is the Cash Volt max win?
It is 2,500 times your stake, paid when all 15 positions on the screen show Cash Volt symbols. At 10p that is £250, at £1 it is £2,500, at the £2 maximum for players aged 18 to 24 it is £5,000, and at the £5 maximum for players aged 25 and over it is £12,500. Red Tiger doesn't publish how often it happens, and it is very rare. Our max win caps page explains how game ceilings work.
Does Cash Volt have free spins?
No free spins round appears in Red Tiger's description of Cash Volt. The game's main feature is the Cash Volt symbol count, which pays between 5x and 2,500x the stake when six or more of the symbols land anywhere on the reels, on any spin. Super Cash Volt symbols in 2x2 and 3x3 sizes help push the count up. If you specifically want a free spins round, other Red Tiger games such as Pirates' Plenty include one.
How do Cash Volt symbols work?
Cash Volt symbols pay by count, not by position. Once six or more are in view anywhere on the 5 × 3 grid, you win a prize from a fixed ladder: 5x for six, 25x for eight, 100x for ten, 500x for twelve and 2,500x for all fifteen. The prize is added to any line wins on the same spin. They work much like scatter symbols, except that they pay a cash prize rather than starting a bonus round.
What are Super Cash Volt symbols?
Super Cash Volt symbols are larger versions of the Cash Volt symbol that cover a 2x2 or 3x3 block of positions. Red Tiger's rules say each square of a Super symbol counts as one Cash Volt symbol, so a 2x2 adds four to the count and a 3x3 adds nine. That is the main way the count reaches the upper steps of the prize ladder. The idea is similar to colossal symbols in other slots, which also fill several positions at once.
Is Cash Volt high or low volatility?
Cash Volt is rated medium volatility. That means it sits between games that pay small amounts often and games that rely on rare large hits. Red Tiger lists a hit frequency of 19.15%, so roughly one spin in five returns something, and the bigger prizes come from high Cash Volt counts. Medium volatility still means losses are likely over time and sessions can swing. Our page on medium volatility slot machines explains what to expect.
Can I play a Cash Volt demo in the UK?
Yes, you can usually play a Cash Volt demo at UK-licensed casinos, but only once your age has been verified. Since May 2019, Gambling Commission rules have stopped operators offering free-to-play games to anyone not confirmed as 18 or over. The demo uses the same paytable and prize ladder as the real-money version, so it is a fair way to learn the game. It cannot predict what will happen when you stake money. See our rule on demo slot age verification.
Who makes the Cash Volt slot?
Red Tiger, a studio founded in 2014, makes the game. NetEnt bought Red Tiger in September 2019 and Evolution has owned both since December 2020, so Red Tiger is now a sister studio of NetEnt, Big Time Gaming and Nolimit City. Red Tiger is known for daily drop jackpots and for Megaways remakes of its own games. Red Tiger's listing dates Cash Volt to 2 July 2020. Our Red Tiger provider page lists more of its slots.
How much can I stake on Cash Volt in the UK?
At a UK-licensed casino you can stake up to £5 per spin on Cash Volt if you are 25 or over, and up to £2 per spin if you are 18 to 24. These limits apply to all online slots and came into force on 9 April 2025 and 21 May 2025. The minimum stake depends on the casino's setup, so check the bet selector. The higher figures shown on Red Tiger's international listing don't apply in Great Britain. See the stake limit for 18 to 24-year-olds page for detail.
Is Cash Volt a fair slot?
Yes, at a UK-licensed casino Cash Volt must run on a tested random number generator and pay according to its published rules and the RTP of the version in use. Every spin is independent, so the count of Cash Volt symbols on one spin says nothing about the next. Fair isn't the same as favourable: every version has a house edge, and over time most players lose. Our page on whether slot machines are rigged explains how testing and licensing protect players.
