The Pirates' Plenty slot is a Red Tiger pirate adventure in which collecting map pieces adds a sixth Treasure Reel that stays on for good. It starts as a 5 × 3 game with 20 paylines, carries high volatility and lists a 95.07% RTP and 5,000x max win. Here is how the map, the Wild Monkey and the Ocean Spins bonus fit together.
Map-piece scatters move you along a map; completing it adds a sixth Treasure Reel that stays in place.
Wild Ships with x2, x3 or x5 multipliers appear only once the Treasure Reel is open.
Three Ocean Spins symbols give 10 free spins, in which keys open chests that turn low symbols wild.
Commonly listed figures are 95.07% RTP and 5,000x max win; Red Tiger's own page shows 95.70% and 4,359x, so check the help screen.
High volatility: dry spells are normal, and losses are likely over time.

What the Pirates' Plenty slot is about
Pirates' Plenty comes from Red Tiger, the studio founded in 2014 and owned by Evolution since December 2020. Reference listings date the game to 2018, while Red Tiger's own page gives a release date of 27 February 2019; the difference may reflect separate launch dates in different markets. The theme is a cartoon-styled treasure hunt with a ship's crew, a monkey and a ghostly captain, aimed at adult players who like a game with a sense of progress.
That sense of progress is the game's main idea. Most slots treat every spin as a closed event. Pirates' Plenty adds a collection meter, the map, which carries over from spin to spin until it is complete. Collection features like this are sometimes called persistent-state features, and they work very differently from the feature trail on a UK fruit machine, even though both show progress on screen.
How the Pirates' Plenty slot machine works
Set your stake. It is spread over the 20 paylines.
Spin. The random number generator decides the full result before the reels move.
Line wins pay for matching symbols from the left, as shown in the paytable.
Any map-piece scatter that lands advances the map one step.
In the base game, the Wild Monkey may appear and clear low-paying symbols.
Three Ocean Spins symbols start the free spins; otherwise the spin ends and, after at least 2.5 seconds, the next can begin.

The map and the sixth Treasure Reel
Map pieces land at random. Each one moves your marker along the map, and when you reach the end the game adds a sixth reel, the Treasure Reel. Red Tiger's description says that once opened it stays open, so the game is then played on a wider grid, the 6x3 layout described as an expanding reels feature. Wild Ships, carrying x2, x3 or x5 wild multipliers, only appear after this point.
A sixth reel matters because a line can now run further. A five-symbol line win can become a six-symbol win, and a Wild Ship on a winning line multiplies the result. How progress is stored, and whether it is kept separately for each stake level, is explained in the help screen; read it before changing your stake mid-session.
A nearly complete map does not make the next spin more likely to pay. Progress on the map changes which features are available, but every spin's outcome is still drawn independently.
How the Wild Monkey clears the reels
The Wild Monkey is a base-game feature. When it lands, it removes all low-paying symbols and lets higher-paying ones take their places, then stays in the position of the last symbol it removed. It is a form of symbol upgrade, because the screen is effectively refilled with better symbols.
Worked example at 50p
Imagine a spin where reels 1 to 3 show mostly low symbols with a single high-paying symbol on reel 1. The monkey lands and clears the low symbols; new symbols fall in, and two more of that high symbol appear, making a three-of-a-kind line through the monkey's final position. If that line pays 1x the stake, the 50p spin returns 50p, which UK rules treat as a return equal to the stake and so not celebrated as a win. If it had joined up four of them instead, the payout would be higher. The symbols and pays here are illustrative; the paytable lists the real ones.
Pirates' Plenty free spins: Ocean Spins and Treasure Chests
Three Ocean Spins symbols award 10 free spins. During the round the Ghostly Captain can land and hand out Treasure Chest keys. Every three keys open a chest, and each chest turns one or more low-paying symbols into wilds for the rest of the round and adds extra spins.

This is a classic symbol transformation bonus: each chest makes the reels richer for every remaining spin, so chests opened early are worth more than chests opened late. A round that finds no keys pays only ordinary line wins.
Pirates' Plenty RTP and volatility explained
The commonly listed RTP is 95.07%, while Red Tiger's current game page shows 95.70%. Red Tiger supplies several RTP variants of many games, so the figure in your casino's version could be either of these or another setting. Volatility is rated high, and Red Tiger lists a hit frequency of 32.98%, roughly one spin in three returning something, often less than the stake.

At 95.70% the same 100 spins at £1 would cost £4.30 on average, 63p less. Real sessions vary far more than that, because high volatility spreads results widely around the average.
Pirates' Plenty max win in pounds
The max win usually quoted for Pirates' Plenty is 5,000x the stake. Red Tiger's own page lists a maximum payout of 4,359x, which may relate to a different version. Here are both, at UK stakes:

Pirates' Plenty demo: checking the RTP and rules
Log in to a UK-licensed casino; demo play is only available after age verification.
Open Pirates' Plenty and tap the information or menu icon.
Read how map progress is stored and whether it is linked to your stake.
Check the Ocean Spins rules: keys per chest and what each chest changes.
Find the RTP at the end of the rules and compare it with 95.07% and 95.70%.
Red Tiger's international listing shows a feature buy toggle and a stake range up to €50. Neither applies in Great Britain: slots supplied here don't offer bonus buys (see bonus buy in the UK), and the Gambling Commission's stake limit guidance (opens in a new tab) caps each spin at £5 for players aged 25 and over and £2 for those aged 18 to 24.
Since 31 October 2021, the online games design rules (opens in a new tab) have also removed autoplay, turbo and slam-stop and set a minimum spin of 2.5 seconds. Your net position and balance must be on screen throughout, which is useful in a progress-led game like this one; see the net position rule.

Frequently asked questions
What is the Pirates' Plenty RTP?
The commonly listed Pirates' Plenty RTP is 95.07%, but Red Tiger's own game page shows 95.70%. Red Tiger offers casinos several versions of many of its games, so the figure in the game you open may be one of these or another setting. The help screen shows the exact RTP for your version. Either way, it is a long-run average across millions of spins, not a prediction for a session. Our page on RTP variants explains why one game can have several figures.
What is the Pirates' Plenty max win?
The max win most often quoted for Pirates' Plenty is 5,000 times the stake, while Red Tiger's own listing gives a maximum payout of 4,359x. At the commonly listed figure, that is £500 at 10p, £10,000 at the £2 limit for players aged 18 to 24, and £25,000 at the £5 limit for those 25 and over. These are ceilings that very few rounds approach. Check the help screen for the cap that applies to your version, and see our max win glossary entry.
How does the Treasure Reel work in Pirates' Plenty?
The Treasure Reel is a sixth reel added when you complete the map. Map-piece scatters land at random and each moves you one step along it. At the end, the sixth reel opens and, according to Red Tiger, stays open from then on, turning the 5 × 3 game into a 6 × 3 one. Wild Ships with x2, x3 or x5 multipliers can only appear once it is open. Read the help screen to see how progress is saved. The expanding reels page explains this family of features.
How do you trigger Pirates' Plenty free spins?
You trigger the Pirates' Plenty free spins, called Ocean Spins, by landing three Ocean Spins symbols in the base game. That gives 10 free spins. During the round the Ghostly Captain can award Treasure Chest keys, and every three keys open a chest that turns one or more low-paying symbols wild for the rest of the round and adds extra spins. A round with no keys pays only normal line wins. Our page on how free spins work on slot machines covers the basics.
What does the Wild Monkey do in Pirates' Plenty?
The Wild Monkey clears low-paying symbols from the reels in the base game. When it lands, every low symbol is removed and higher-paying symbols take their places, and the monkey stays in the position of the last symbol it removed, where it acts as a wild. It can turn a weak screen into a line win, though it doesn't always produce one. It only appears in the base game, not in Ocean Spins. Our page on symbol upgrades explains similar features.
Is Pirates' Plenty high volatility?
Yes, Pirates' Plenty is rated high volatility. Red Tiger lists a hit frequency of 32.98%, so about one spin in three returns something, but many of those returns are smaller than the stake, and larger wins come mostly from the Treasure Reel, Wild Ships and well-stocked Ocean Spins. Sessions can swing widely, and losing streaks are a normal part of the game. Set a budget first. The high volatility slot machines page explains what this means in practice.
Can I play a Pirates' Plenty demo?
Yes, at UK-licensed casinos you can usually play a Pirates' Plenty demo once you have verified your age. Since May 2019, the Gambling Commission has required operators to check that players are 18 or over before offering free-to-play games. The demo shows how the map, the Wild Monkey and Ocean Spins behave, using the same rules as the paid game. It can't predict real results, because each spin is random. See our demo slots guide for tips on using demos sensibly.
Does map progress make Pirates' Plenty more likely to pay?
No, map progress doesn't make the next spin more likely to pay. Each spin's result is drawn independently by the random number generator. What progress does change is which features are possible: once the Treasure Reel is open, Wild Ships can appear and lines can run across six reels. That changes the game's shape, but it is not a sign that a big win is close. The page on whether slot machines remember past spins explains the difference.
How much can I stake on Pirates' Plenty in the UK?
You can stake up to £5 per spin on Pirates' Plenty in the UK if you are 25 or older, and up to £2 per spin if you are 18 to 24. These limits cover all online slots and took effect in April and May 2025. Higher stakes shown on Red Tiger's international listing are not available in Great Britain. Your casino applies the right limit based on your verified age. See our page on online slot stake limits.
Is Pirates' Plenty fair?
Yes, at a UK-licensed casino Pirates' Plenty must use a tested random number generator and pay according to its published rules and RTP. The Gambling Commission requires independent testing, and every spin is separate from the last, including spins that move the map. Fair doesn't mean you'll come out ahead: the RTP includes a house edge and most players lose money over time. Read how slot machines are tested to see what fairness checks involve.
