Relax Gaming slots are made by a Malta-based company that began in Tallinn in 2010 as a platform business and started releasing its own games in 2018. It is best known for the Money Train series and the Dream Drop jackpot network. Here is how its games work, what they cost on average and how big their capped prizes are at UK stakes.
Relax Gaming was founded in 2010 and has made its own slots since 2018; it holds Gambling Commission account 37462.
It is both a studio and a distributor, carrying partner studios through its Silver Bullet and Powered By programmes.
Money Train is its flagship series, with caps rising from 20,000x to 150,000x the stake across sequels.
Dream Drop, launched in 2022, is its own linked jackpot network.
Most of its games are high volatility, so results swing widely around a roughly 96% RTP.

Relax Gaming: from platform to slot studio
Relax Gaming was founded in 2010 by Patrik Österåker and Jani Tekoniemi. It started out in Tallinn, Estonia, and is now headquartered in Malta. For its first years it was mainly a technology and distribution company; its own slots arrived in 2018, and within a year the first Money Train game had given it a recognisable hit.
That history matters because Relax still does two jobs. It builds games in-house, and it distributes other studios’ games to casinos through two partner programmes, Silver Bullet and Powered By. When you see a game labelled “Relax” in a casino lobby, it may have been made by Relax itself or by a partner studio using its platform. Our explainer on what a slot aggregator is shows how this distribution layer works.
Its British licence is held by Relax Gaming Ltd under Gambling Commission account 37462. You can look the company up on the Commission’s public register (opens in a new tab). It is also regulated in Malta, Gibraltar, Alderney, Denmark, Romania and Ontario. The wider landscape of studios is covered on our online slot providers hub.
Relax Gaming’s Money Train slots
Money Train is a Wild West train-robbery series built around a respin bonus. Money symbols land with cash values, special characters collect, multiply or add to those values, and the round ends when the respins run out. It is a close relative of the hold and win format, with extra character symbols layered on top.

100,000x Ultra, 50,000x Standard
Two trends stand out. The caps grew fast, from 20,000x in the first game to 150,000x in the fourth, and each sequel added more character symbols and modes. Money Train 5 splits its bonus into Standard and Ultra modes with different caps. Money Train 4 also switched from paylines to scatter-style pays needing eight or more matching symbols.
Away from the train, Relax’s catalogue leans on respins, expanding grids and cascades. These are the titles in our checked data:
Money Cart 2 (2021): a respin bonus with collector, persistent and multiplier symbols, published at 98.00% with lower versions available.
Iron Bank (2020): a 6x4, 4,096-ways heist game with a 49,999x cap.
Hellcatraz (2020): a 6x6, 46,656-ways prison-break game rated high to very high volatility, with a 51,840x cap and 96.46% in its Mixed Mode.
TNT Tumble (2020): a cluster-pays game on a 5x4 grid that can expand to 5x7, at 96.11%.
Temple Tumble Megaways (2019): built on Big Time Gaming’s Megaways under licence, with up to 46,656 ways, 96.25% and a cap of about 7,767x.
Money Cart 2’s 98% headline is the highest RTP in our Relax data, but the note about lower versions is important: a casino can legitimately run a version that returns less. That is why the help screen beats any review figure, including ours.
Dream Drop jackpots on Relax slots
Dream Drop is Relax’s own jackpot network, launched in 2022. A small part of each qualifying stake goes into shared prize pools that grow until one is won, which is how linked progressives generally work. Games with Dream Drop attached show the current pool values on screen.
Two things to keep in mind. First, the share of each stake that feeds a jackpot is part of the game’s overall RTP, so a jackpot version can return less in the base game than its standalone twin. Second, jackpot odds are not published in a way that lets you judge when a pool is likely to drop. A big pool is not a sign that a win is near; read our explainer on how jackpots are funded for the details.
What Relax Gaming slots cost to play
Published RTPs for Relax games cluster around 96%, which makes the average cost of play broadly similar across the catalogue. The table works through 100 spins at 50p, which is £50 staked.

Those are averages over a vast number of spins. With high-volatility games like these, most of the return arrives through infrequent bonus rounds, so a £50 session will more often end with less than £48 than with something close to the average. Relax Gaming max wins at UK stake limits

Relax slots under UK game design rules
Relax supplies UK-specific builds to British casinos. Under the Commission’s game design rules, in force since 31 October 2021, those versions have no autoplay, take at least 2.5 seconds per spin, have no turbo or slam-stop, and don’t celebrate a return that is equal to or less than the stake. The exact wording is in the Commission’s summary of the changes to its technical standards (opens in a new tab).
Bonus buys, offered on some Relax games in other markets, are not offered at UK-licensed casinos, so you trigger the Money Train respins by landing the bonus symbols in play. See bonus buy in the UK for background.
How to check a Relax Gaming slot before you play
Find the game in the casino lobby, using a Relax Gaming filter if one exists.
Open the info or help screen and note the RTP shown; this is the version the casino runs.
Look for the maximum win line in the rules, and check whether a Dream Drop jackpot is attached.
Read the bonus rules: which symbols trigger the respins and what each character symbol does.
Decide your session budget, then set a deposit limit in the account’s safer gambling tools.
Common myths about Relax Gaming slots
A Dream Drop pool that hasn’t dropped for ages is due. Jackpot draws are random; a large pool reflects stakes paid in, not a countdown. Character symbols make the bonus skill-based. The values and positions are decided by the RNG; there are no choices that improve the return. A sequel always pays better. Money Train 3, 4 and 5 publish a slightly lower RTP than Money Train 2; a higher cap usually means more volatility, not more generosity. Our myths guide covers the general cases.
Are Relax Gaming slots right for you?
Advantages
Published RTPs around 96%, with Money Cart 2 higher in its top version
Well-developed respin bonuses with clear rules
Dream Drop adds a networked jackpot to some titles
Drawbacks
Mostly high volatility, so budgets can drain quickly
Lower RTP versions exist for some games
Big caps can create unrealistic expectations
Relax games suit adults who enjoy collect-and-multiply bonus rounds and can treat long dry spells as part of the cost. If that sounds stressful rather than fun, it is a good signal to choose lower-volatility games or take a break; our help for slot players page lists free support, including the National Gambling Helpline on 0808 8020 133.

Frequently asked questions
Who owns Relax Gaming?
Relax Gaming was founded in 2010 by Patrik Österåker and Jani Tekoniemi; it began in Tallinn and is now headquartered in Malta. Its UK licence is held by Relax Gaming Ltd under Gambling Commission account 37462, and it is also regulated in Malta, Gibraltar, Alderney, Denmark, Romania and Ontario. Corporate ownership can change after a page like this is written, so the Commission’s public register is the place to confirm current licence details. Our providers hub lists other studios for comparison.
What is the best Relax Gaming slot?
There isn’t one best game, because the right choice depends on budget and taste, but Money Train 2 is the series entry with the highest published RTP at 96.40% and a 50,000x cap. Money Cart 2 publishes 98.00% in its top version, though lower versions exist. Money Train 4 has the biggest cap in our data at 150,000x, which comes with very large swings. Read the Money Train 2 page and our guide on how to choose a slot machine before deciding.
What RTP do Relax Gaming slots have?
Most Relax slots in our checked data publish between 96.1% and 96.46%, with Money Cart 2 at 98.00% in its top version. At 50p a spin, 100 spins (£50 staked) cost between £1 and £1.95 on average over the very long run, although single sessions vary hugely. Casinos can run lower approved versions of some games, so the RTP in the game’s help screen is the one that applies to you. Our page on what a good RTP is puts these numbers in context.
What is Dream Drop?
Dream Drop is Relax Gaming’s linked jackpot network, launched in 2022. Part of each stake on participating games feeds shared prize pools, and the pools grow until a player wins one; the game shows current values on screen. The contribution comes out of the game’s overall return, so it doesn’t add value on top. No pool is ever due to drop, however large it looks. Our pages on linked progressives and what happens when a jackpot is won explain the mechanics.
How does the Money Train bonus work?
The Money Train bonus is a respin round: money symbols lock in place with cash values, and the respin counter resets each time a new symbol lands. Character symbols then change the values, for example collecting all values on screen, multiplying neighbours or adding to every symbol. The round ends when the counter runs out, and the values are totted up. All outcomes come from the RNG, so no decision during the feature changes the result. See our respins and Money Train pages for a worked walk-through.
Is Relax Gaming licensed in the UK?
Yes, Relax Gaming Ltd holds a Gambling Commission licence under account 37462, which allows it to supply games to British casinos. You can confirm the current status by searching the company’s name on the Commission’s public register. A studio’s licence does not cover the casino you play at, which needs its own operating licence, so check both. Our explainer on what a slot machine licence is and the page on the Gambling Commission and slots cover how the system works.
What are Silver Bullet and Powered By?
They are Relax Gaming’s two partner programmes for other studios. Through them, smaller developers can release games on Relax’s platform and reach casinos that already connect to Relax, rather than building every casino integration themselves. That means a game listed under Relax in a lobby may have been designed by a partner. It doesn’t change how the game is regulated: it still needs approval for the British market. Our slot aggregator glossary entry and the Peter & Sons page show how partner studios use this route.
How much can I win on Money Train 4 at the £2 limit?
Money Train 4 publishes a cap of 150,000x the stake, so at the £2 maximum for players aged 18 to 24 the theoretical ceiling is £300,000, and at the £5 limit for over-25s it is £750,000. Those are ceilings written into the maths, not likely outcomes, and a casino’s own terms may set a lower maximum payout. The average cost of play is set by the 96.1% RTP, which works out at about 3.9p per £1 staked. See the Money Train 4 page and stake limit for 18 to 24 year olds.
Can I play Relax Gaming slots in demo mode?
Yes, many UK casinos offer free demo play of Relax titles, after you have verified your age, a requirement since May 2019. Demo games use the same rules and maths as the real-money versions, which makes them useful for learning how the Money Train character symbols interact. Keep in mind that a long demo session can make bonus rounds seem more frequent than a real budget would allow. Our free slot machines page and demo slots guide explain the options.
