The Sweet Bonanza 1000 slot is Pragmatic Play's 2024 update of its sweets-and-fruit game: a 6 × 5 grid where eight or more matching symbols pay anywhere, with free spins bombs worth up to 1,000x. The top RTP is 96.53%, but 95.52% and 94.51% versions also exist, and the cap is 25,000x your stake.
Any 8 or more matching symbols anywhere on the 6 × 5 grid win, then tumble away.
Four or more lollipops give 10 free spins; three more in the round add 5.
Bombs in free spins carry values up to 1,000x, are added together and applied to the tumble total.
Three RTP versions exist: on £100 staked the average cost is £3.47, £4.48 or £5.49.
The 25,000x cap equals £50,000 at £2 and £125,000 at £5.

What the Sweet Bonanza 1000 slot changes from the original
Sweet Bonanza is one of Pragmatic Play's best-known games. The 1000 edition keeps the grid, the symbols and the way wins are counted, then rebuilds the bonus so that a single multiplier can reach 1,000x. To keep the overall return in line, the game rebalances other parts of its maths, which is why its cap and volatility differ from the original. Our Sweet Bonanza vs Sweet Bonanza 1000 page goes through the two side by side.

How the Sweet Bonanza 1000 slot machine pays
There are no paylines. The game counts how many of each symbol are on the 30 positions, and any symbol with eight or more copies pays, wherever they sit. This is called pays anywhere, or scatter pays. Larger counts pay more: the paytable groups them into bands such as 8–9, 10–11 and 12 or more. Winning symbols then disappear in a tumble, new ones fall into the gaps, and the count runs again.
Set your stake, within the UK limit of £5 a spin (£2 if you are 18 to 24).
The RNG fills the 6 × 5 grid; the whole result, including all tumbles, is already fixed.
The game counts each symbol. Any with 8 or more on screen pays its band value.
Winning symbols are removed and the remaining ones drop; new symbols fill from above.
Counting repeats until no symbol reaches 8, then the spin ends.
Four or more lollipop scatters anywhere start the free spins.
A counting example
Picture a spin with 9 grapes, 6 bananas, 4 hearts and a mix of others. Grapes pay at the 8–9 band; bananas and hearts don't pay yet. The 9 grapes vanish and 9 new symbols fall in, bringing 3 more bananas. Bananas now total 9 and pay too. Then they vanish, and if nothing else reaches 8, the spin stops. One spin, two separate wins.
Sweet Bonanza 1000 free spins and multiplier bombs
Landing four or more lollipop scatters gives 10 free spins, and three or more lollipops during the round add 5 more. Pragmatic's game page says candy bomb multipliers in the bonus carry random values of up to 1,000x. Bombs stay on screen through the tumble sequence, their values are added together, and the sum is applied to the sequence's total win.

The last row matters: a bomb with no win in its sequence pays nothing. Most bombs land on modest sequences or none at all, so the 1,000x value is part of the range rather than a likely result. That is how a game can include such large values and still keep its RTP close to the original: big multipliers are rare, and many rounds end with small totals.
Sweet Bonanza 1000 RTP: three versions, three costs
Sweet Bonanza 1000 RTP is published at 96.53%, but Pragmatic also offers versions at 95.52% and 94.51%. The casino chooses which one to run. The game doesn't look any different, so the only way to know is to check the help screen, where the RTP must be shown under UK rules. The Commission's rules and game descriptions standard (opens in a new tab) covers that information requirement, and our page on RTP variants explains why studios make them.

The gap between the best and worst version is £2.02 per £100 staked. That sounds small, but over £1,000 of total stakes, which is 5,000 spins at 20p, it adds up to about £20 more in expected losses.

Sweet Bonanza 1000 max win at UK stakes
The maximum is 25,000 times the stake, hit when a spin or bonus reaches the cap; the game then ends the feature and pays the capped sum.
Yes. Pragmatic rates it 5 out of 5 on its in-game volatility meter. In practice the base game returns a lot of small tumble wins and many blank spins, and most of the value sits in free spins with bombs. The spread is wide: two players making 200 spins at 20p each (£40 staked apiece) could finish with very different balances. Our volatility page explains what the ratings measure.
Advantages
Pays-anywhere wins are easy to read.
Top version at 96.53% is above many rivals.
Bombs are added, so several small ones can combine usefully.
Drawbacks
Three RTP versions mean you must check which one you are on.
High volatility: long spells without the bonus are normal.
The 1,000x bombs are rare by design.
Sweet Bonanza 1000 myths and facts
"Three lollipops means the fourth is coming." A near miss is just a losing spin; there is no build-up between spins.
"A bomb with no win wastes the next one." Bombs are part of each sequence's result and don't carry a debt or credit.
"The 1000 version pays more often." It changes the shape of the payouts, not the frequency of wins in any published way.
"Casinos switch to the low RTP when you're winning." The version is set for the game at that casino, not adjusted per player. See do slot machines remember past spins? for how memoryless spins work.
You can try a Sweet Bonanza 1000 demo at UK casinos after age verification, a requirement since 2019. Use it to read the paytable bands and the bomb values; just remember play credits feel cheaper than real money. On real-money play, the British version has no autoplay or turbo, each spin lasts at least 2.5 seconds, and there's no option to buy the free spins. Where an ante bet is shown, it increases your stake per spin and the total must stay within your stake limit.

Frequently asked questions
What is the RTP of Sweet Bonanza 1000?
The highest version has an RTP of 96.53%, and Pragmatic also supplies versions at 95.52% and 94.51%. The casino chooses which to run, and the game looks the same either way, so check the help screen. On £100 staked the long-run average cost is £3.47, £4.48 or £5.49 depending on the version. Our guide on finding a slot's RTP shows where to look.
What is the max win on Sweet Bonanza 1000?
The cap is 25,000 times your stake. At 10p that is £2,500 and at £1 it is £25,000. Players aged 18 to 24 can stake up to £2, making their ceiling £50,000, while at the £5 limit for over-25s it is £125,000. Reaching it needs large bombs landing on a big tumble sequence, which is extremely rare. Read about max win caps.
How many lollipops do you need for free spins?
You need four or more lollipop scatters anywhere on the grid in one spin to start 10 free spins. During the round, three or more lollipops give 5 extra spins. Where they land doesn't matter, because scatters are counted across the whole grid. Free spins can't be bought in the UK version. For the general mechanics see how free spins work.
How do the multiplier bombs work in Sweet Bonanza 1000?
Bombs appear only in free spins and carry a random value up to 1,000x. They stay on screen while a tumble sequence plays out, then all bomb values in that sequence are added together and applied to its total win. Two bombs of 10x and 20x make 30x, not 200x. A bomb in a sequence with no win pays nothing. Our multiplier explainer covers other designs.
Is Sweet Bonanza 1000 better than Sweet Bonanza?
It isn't better, just different. Sweet Bonanza 1000 has a slightly higher top RTP (96.53% against 96.48%), a higher cap (25,000x against 21,100x) and bombs worth up to 1,000x. That makes its results even more spread out. The original may suit you if you want the same style with a little less extreme top end. See the full comparison page.
Can I play Sweet Bonanza 1000 in demo mode?
Yes, at UK casinos after age verification, which has been required for free-play games since 2019. The demo uses the same maths and paytable, so it shows how tumbles and bombs work. It can't show whether real play will go well, because every spin is random and independent. Treat it as a way to learn the rules. More on demo slots.
Why are there different RTP versions?
Studios such as Pragmatic Play offer several RTP settings so casinos can choose the balance between player return and their own margin. The game's look and features stay the same; only the internal weighting differs. UK rules require the RTP to be stated in the game information, so you can check it. Choosing the 96.53% version over 94.51% saves about £2.02 per £100 staked on average. See high RTP slot machines.
How does pays anywhere work on Sweet Bonanza 1000?
Instead of lines or ways, the game counts how many of each symbol are on the 30 grid positions. Eight or more of the same symbol anywhere is a win, with higher counts paying more. Winning symbols then tumble away and the count runs again on the new grid. Position doesn't matter at all. Our pays-anywhere slots page compares this with cluster and line systems.
Does Sweet Bonanza 1000 have an ante bet?
Pragmatic's game page doesn't describe one, so check the bet panel in the game at your casino. Where any slot offers an ante bet, it raises the cost of every spin in return for a higher chance of triggering free spins, and the total must still be within the £2 or £5 stake limit. It doesn't change the house edge in your favour. See ante bet slots.
Is Sweet Bonanza 1000 fair?
Yes, in the sense that results come from a tested random number generator and the RTP is published. UK-licensed games must have their RNG and game rules checked before release, and the outcome of each spin is fixed at random when you press spin. Fair doesn't mean you will come out ahead: the house edge makes losses likely over time. See how slot machines are tested.
