The Sugar Rush 1000 slot is Pragmatic Play's 2024 remake of Sugar Rush: a 7×7 cluster pays grid where wins tumble away and leave multiplier spots that can double all the way to x1,024. RTP is up to 96.53%, with lower versions in circulation, volatility is very high and the cap is 25,000x the stake. Here is how the multiplier spots really work and what they cost.
Clusters of 5 or more matching symbols, touching up, down, left or right, pay; there are no wilds.
A cleared position is marked; clear it again and it carries x2, doubling each time up to x1,024.
In free spins the marked positions and multipliers stay for the whole round.
RTP is up to 96.53%; lower settings exist, so check the help screen.
Max win is 25,000x: £50,000 at the £2 limit for 18–24s.

What is the Sugar Rush 1000 slot?
The game belongs to Pragmatic Play's "1000" range, in which the studio rebuilt several of its popular games with bigger multipliers and a higher cap. Like Gates of Olympus 1000 and Sweet Bonanza 1000, it keeps the original's layout and rules but stretches the top end. The original Sugar Rush used the same 7×7 board.
It is a cluster pays slot machine: there are no reels in the usual sense and no paylines. Instead, groups of matching sweets that touch each other horizontally or vertically form wins. The sweets theme is purely cosmetic; underneath sits one of the more volatile maths models in Pragmatic's catalogue.

How the Sugar Rush 1000 slot machine works
Each paid spin can contain several tumbles. The RNG fixes the whole sequence the moment you press spin; the tumbles are the game showing you that result in stages.
Choose a stake; the UK maximum is £5 a spin at 25 and over and £2 at 18 to 24.
Spin. Forty-nine symbols fill the board.
Any group of five or more identical symbols connected horizontally or vertically pays according to its size.
Winning symbols disappear, their positions are marked, and new symbols drop in from above.
New clusters pay again; a position that is cleared a second time gains a x2 multiplier, and each later clear doubles it.
When a tumble produces no win, the sequence ends, and in the base game the marks and multipliers are cleared before the next spin.
Diagonal contact does not count, which catches many new players out. Bigger clusters pay more: the paytable has steps from five symbols up to fifteen or more. Open it in your own game to see values in pounds at your stake.
Multiplier spots in Sugar Rush 1000: the doubling ladder
The marked positions are the heart of the game. A position cleared once is marked but carries nothing. Cleared a second time in the same sequence, it becomes x2. Each further clear doubles it, until it reaches the x1,024 cap that gives the 1000 version its name.

Worked example
When a winning cluster sits on more than one multiplier position, the multipliers are added together, not multiplied, and the total applies to that cluster. Imagine an eight-symbol cluster worth 40p at your stake. If it covers one x4 spot and one x8 spot, the combined multiplier is x12, and the win becomes £4.80. If the same cluster also covered a x64 spot, the total would be x76 and the win £30.40. This is a form of progressive multiplier, because each tumble can raise the values for the next.
In the base game every mark and multiplier resets when the tumble sequence ends. Only free spins keep them, which is why the bonus carries most of the game's potential.

Candy machine scatter symbols trigger the bonus. Scatters can arrive across tumbles in the same paid spin, not only on the first drop.

Landing three to seven scatters during the round adds the same number of spins again, a standard retrigger. The big change in the bonus is that marked positions and their multipliers do not reset between spins. A position that reaches x32 on spin two is still x32 on spin nine, and can keep doubling. Over a long round the board can fill with multipliers, which is how results near the 25,000x cap become possible.
Overseas, Pragmatic also sells a "super" version of the bonus that starts with multipliers already placed. It cannot be triggered by playing and is not part of the version supplied to Great Britain, because bonus buys are not offered here.

Sugar Rush vs Sugar Rush 1000: what changed
The two games share the grid, the cluster rule, the tumbles and the marked positions. The 1000 version lets each position keep doubling to x1,024 and lifts the cap to 25,000x, so more of the return is pushed into rare, very large results. That makes it swingier than the original. For figures on the original, see our Sugar Rush page, and for a festive reskin, Sugar Rush Xmas.
Simple rules: clusters, tumbles and marked positions
Multipliers persist through the whole free spins round
Up to 96.53% RTP at the best setting
A clear visual record of where multipliers sit
Drawbacks
Very high volatility: base spins often return little
Base-game multipliers reset after every sequence
No wilds to rescue near-clusters
Lower RTP settings may be in use
It suits adults who like watching a board build up and accept that most sessions end below the stake. Players who prefer frequent small wins will find a low volatility slot easier on a budget.
Myths about the Sugar Rush 1000 slot
"High multipliers on the board mean a big win is coming." In the base game they vanish when the sequence ends; in free spins they help only if clusters land on them, which the RNG decides.
"After a dead bonus, the next one will be generous." Bonuses are independent of each other.
"The demo has better maths." Licensed demos must use the same model as the real game.
"Some casinos have a looser version." The only difference is the RTP setting, shown in the help screen. Our page on loose and tight slot machines explains the term.
UK rules that apply to Sugar Rush 1000
British players see a slower, simpler version than footage from other markets. There is no autoplay, no turbo or quick spin and no bonus buy, and each paid spin takes at least 2.5 seconds, rules in force since 31 October 2021. Wins that are equal to or smaller than the stake are not celebrated. Stakes are capped at £5 for players aged 25 and over and £2 for 18–24s, the lower limit explained in the government's announcement (opens in a new tab).
Because the theme uses brightly coloured sweets, it is worth repeating that online slots in Britain are strictly 18+. Even the demo needs age verification, as the Gambling Commission explains in its guide to age and ID checks (opens in a new tab). Our slot game design rules page covers the rest.

Frequently asked questions
What is the Sugar Rush 1000 RTP?
The Sugar Rush 1000 RTP is up to 96.53%, and Pragmatic Play also supplies lower versions that some casinos use. That figure is the long-run average across all spins, including tumbles and free spins. At 96.53%, 100 spins at £1 cost about £3.47 on average, but very high volatility means short sessions swing widely. Check the game's information screen for the version your casino runs. Our guide to reading slot RTP in the UK explains where to find it.
What is the Sugar Rush 1000 max win?
The Sugar Rush 1000 max win is 25,000 times your stake. On a 20p spin that is £5,000; at £1 it is £25,000; at the £2 limit for 18–24s it is £50,000; and at the £5 limit for players aged 25 and over it is £125,000. The round stops as soon as the cap is reached. Results near the cap need large clusters landing on very high multiplier positions, usually in a long free spins round. See max win caps for how these limits are set.
How do the multipliers work in Sugar Rush 1000?
Each time a winning symbol disappears, its position is marked. If that position is cleared again during the same tumble sequence it gains x2, and each later clear doubles it, up to x1,024. When a winning cluster covers several multiplier positions, the values are added together and applied to that cluster's win. In the base game the marks reset after each sequence; in free spins they stay for the whole round. Our multipliers feature page compares this with other designs.
How do you trigger free spins on Sugar Rush 1000?
You trigger free spins by landing three or more scatter symbols during a paid spin, including across its tumbles. Three scatters award 10 spins, four give 12, five give 15, six give 20 and seven give 30, and the same counts apply to retriggers inside the round. Multiplier positions carry over from spin to spin throughout the bonus. Triggers are random, so no stake pattern changes how often they arrive. Read how free spins work on slot machines for the general mechanics.
Is Sugar Rush 1000 better than Sugar Rush?
Neither is better in a money sense; they suit different tastes. Sugar Rush 1000 keeps the same 7×7 cluster grid and marked positions but lets each multiplier double up to x1,024 and raises the cap to 25,000x. That moves more of the return into rare, large results, so the 1000 version is the more volatile of the two. If you prefer more modest swings, the original may suit you better. Compare both on our Sugar Rush page and the cluster pays guide.
Does Sugar Rush 1000 have wilds?
No, Sugar Rush 1000 has no wild symbols. Every win comes from five or more identical symbols connected horizontally or vertically, with diagonal contact not counting. The game relies on tumbles and multiplier positions rather than wilds to create bigger wins. That is one reason base-game spins can feel sparse: there is nothing to complete a near-cluster. If you prefer games with substitutes, our page on wild symbols lists how different wild types work.
Can I buy the Sugar Rush 1000 bonus in the UK?
No. The bonus buy and the super free spins version sold in some other markets are not part of the game supplied to UK-licensed casinos. British players can reach free spins only by landing scatters during normal play. This reflects how games are supplied to Great Britain rather than a single dated Gambling Commission rule. If you see a buy button in videos, it comes from a non-UK version. More context is on our UK bonus buy page.
Is there a Sugar Rush 1000 demo in the UK?
Many UK-licensed casinos offer Sugar Rush 1000 as free demo play after age verification. Since May 2019 the Gambling Commission has required operators to confirm you are 18 or over before you can use any free version. The demo runs the same maths as the paid game, so it is a fair way to learn how marked positions behave, but it predicts nothing about real-money spins. Our demo slots vs real money slots comparison covers the differences that do exist.
How long will £20 last on Sugar Rush 1000?
At 20p a spin, £20 buys 100 paid spins, and UK rules mean each takes at least 2.5 seconds, with tumbles often making them longer. How long the money actually lasts depends on luck: on a very high volatility game it may run out in well under 100 spins, or wins may extend it. The 96.53% RTP points to an average cost of about 69p per 100 spins at 20p, but that is a long-run figure. Our guide on how long money lasts on slots runs more examples.
