The Das xBoot slot is a submarine-themed Nolimit City game released on 14 September 2021, with a 2-3-4-4-3-2 grid, 576 ways in the base game and up to 75,712 with its features. The default RTP is 96.03%, volatility is rated extreme and the top prize is 55,200x the stake. Below is a plain account of every mechanic and what it costs.
Das xBoot starts on 576 ways and can reach 75,712 through xWays and the periscope reel.
Three Nolimit mechanics drive the base game: xNudge wilds, xWays symbols and xBomb wilds.
Three scatters start Silent Hunter; four start the stronger Wolf Pack round.
Volatility is extreme: most spins lose, and a tiny share of results carries the 96.03% return.
Max win is 55,200x, or £110,400 at the £2 limit for 18–24s.

Das xBoot slot in brief
Das xBoot comes from Nolimit City, the Malta-registered studio now owned by Evolution, and it shows off almost every trademark the studio is known for. The game uses a diamond-shaped grid of six reels holding 2, 3, 4, 4, 3 and 2 symbols. Wins pay on ways, so matching symbols on adjacent reels from the left count wherever they sit on each reel.
The theme is a wartime submarine hunt, but the substance is the maths. Nolimit labels the volatility extreme, the highest band it uses, and the 55,200x cap is among the larger figures in our library. That combination means the game is built around rare, very large results rather than steady returns.

Reading the Das xBoot slot machine grid
The 576 base ways come straight from multiplying the reel heights: 2 × 3 × 4 × 4 × 3 × 2 = 576. Every time a feature adds symbols to a reel, it multiplies the total again. If an xWays symbol on reel 2 turns into three symbols, for example, that reel effectively holds five positions instead of three, and the full-grid figure becomes 2 × 5 × 4 × 4 × 3 × 2 = 960 ways.

The maximum of 75,712 ways comes when bonus features stack these expansions together. Like any ways count, it describes how wins can form, not how much the game returns. For more on the arithmetic, see what 243 ways means, which uses the same principle on a smaller grid.
xNudge, xWays and xBomb: the Das xBoot base game
xNudge wilds
In the base game, stacked wilds four symbols tall can land on reels 3 and 4, the two tallest reels. If one lands partly off screen, it nudges into full view, and each nudge adds 1 to its multiplier. A wild that nudges two steps carries x3, for instance. When several multiplier wilds take part in one win, their values combine. Our xNudge page covers the mechanic across Nolimit's catalogue, and nudging wilds explains the wider family.
xWays symbols
xWays symbols can land on reels 2 to 5. Each reveals two or three copies of the same randomly chosen paying symbol, and if several land on one spin, they all reveal the same symbol. That both multiplies ways and lines up a single symbol across the grid.
xBomb wilds
An xBomb wild adds 1 to a global win multiplier, then explodes, clearing away non-winning paying symbols. The bomb itself stays as an ordinary wild and new symbols fall into the gaps, much like cascading reels. A chain of xBombs can therefore build the multiplier several times in one paid spin.
All three mechanics are part of the single result drawn by the RNG when you press spin. Nudges and explosions are the game showing you that result step by step.
Das xBoot free spins: Silent Hunter and Wolf Pack
Sonar display scatters land on reels 2 to 5. How many you collect decides which round you get.

Silent Hunter
In Silent Hunter, matching symbols on reels 1 and 2 together with a periscope wild on the tall reel 3 start a torpedo launch at an enemy ship. A hit expands the periscope wild to cover the reel, raises the global multiplier by 1 per torpedo and adds to the wild's own multiplier for each nudge. A miss leaves the wild as a single symbol. Each scatter that lands during the round adds two spins.
Wolf Pack
Wolf Pack is the stronger tier. Torpedo wilds on reels 2 to 5 drop metallic xWays symbols into a tube below the grid, each starting at x2 and rising by 1 with every new torpedo wild, up to x9. Filling all four tube positions launches the torpedo, converting reels into large xWays symbols and wilds and adding 1 to the win multiplier. Scatters again add two spins. Our wild multipliers page explains how stacked multipliers combine.
Das xBoot RTP and what it costs per 100 spins
The default Das xBoot RTP is 96.03%, which means a house edge of 3.97%. Nolimit offers lower settings to operators too, and at least one slot database lists a 94.02% version, so read the figure in your game's rules. Here is the average cost of 100 spins at the default.

Those averages hide a lot. On an extreme-volatility slot, the typical 100-spin session ends well below the average return, while a small number of sessions finish far above it. That is what pays for the 96.03% on paper. Our page on standard deviation puts numbers to that spread.
Das xBoot max win at UK stake limits

A cap this large exists because the multipliers and ways can compound so far. It does not mean big wins are common; it means the rare ones can be very large. See which slot has the biggest max win for how Das xBoot compares.
Extreme volatility: is the Das xBoot slot worth it?
Extreme volatility changes how a budget behaves. Many sessions end with nothing but small line wins, and the bonus may not appear at all. That is not a fault; it is the design. A sensible approach is to treat your budget as the full cost of the session and to stop when it is gone, not to top up after a dry run.
Advantages
Several layered mechanics make the base game varied
Two bonus tiers with very different potential
A default 96.03% RTP, in line with many modern slots
One of the higher max win caps available
Drawbacks
Extreme volatility means long losing runs are normal
Torpedo rules are complex and hard to follow at first
The strongest round needs four scatters, which is rarer than three
Design rules. Since 31 October 2021: no autoplay, a minimum 2.5 seconds per spin, no turbo or slam-stop, and no fanfare for returns at or below the stake. The Commission summarised these in its announcement of the online game design rules (opens in a new tab).

Frequently asked questions
What is the Das xBoot RTP?
The default Das xBoot RTP is 96.03%, giving a house edge of 3.97%. Nolimit City also supplies lower settings, and a 94.02% version is listed by at least one slot database, so the figure can differ between casinos. Open the game rules to see the version you are playing. On average, 100 spins at £1 cost about £3.97 at the default setting, but an extreme game rarely behaves like the average over short sessions. Our page on RTP variants explains why settings differ.
What is the Das xBoot max win?
The Das xBoot max win is 55,200 times the stake. That works out at £11,040 on a 20p spin, £55,200 on £1, £110,400 at the £2 limit for 18–24s and £276,000 at the £5 limit for players aged 25 and over. The cap is reached only when the bonus features compound perfectly, and Nolimit does not publish the odds on its own pages. Once the cap is hit, the round stops and pays that amount. Compare other caps in what slot has the biggest max win.
How do you trigger Das xBoot free spins?
You trigger Das xBoot free spins with sonar display scatters on reels 2 to 5. Three scatters start Silent Hunter with 8 free spins and a tall periscope reel in the middle; four scatters start Wolf Pack, the stronger round with its torpedo tube. In both, extra scatters add two spins each. Triggers are random, and no stake size or timing makes them more likely. For the general principle, see how many spins until a bonus, which explains why there is no fixed interval.
What does xNudge mean in Das xBoot?
xNudge is Nolimit City's name for stacked wilds that nudge into full view and gain a multiplier with each step. In Das xBoot they appear on reels 3 and 4 in the base game and stand four symbols tall. A wild that nudges two positions carries x3, for example, and several multiplier wilds in the same win combine. The nudge is just how the screen reveals a result already decided by the RNG. Our xNudge feature page covers other games that use it.
Is Das xBoot too volatile for most players?
Das xBoot is rated extreme, Nolimit's highest volatility band, so it suits only players who accept that most sessions will end with a loss and big results are very rare. The game's return is concentrated in uncommon bonus outcomes. If you prefer spins that pay small amounts more often, a medium or low volatility slot is a better fit. Whatever you choose, set a budget you can afford to lose. Our volatility explainer shows how the same RTP can feel completely different.
Can I buy the Das xBoot bonus in the UK?
No, the bonus buy seen in footage from other countries is not available in the version supplied to UK-licensed casinos. British players can only reach Silent Hunter or Wolf Pack by landing the scatters during normal spins. This is how games are supplied to the British market rather than a single dated rule, and it applies to Nolimit City's whole catalogue here. The page on bonus buy in the UK explains the background and how it relates to the Gambling Commission's design rules.
How many ways does Das xBoot have?
Das xBoot has 576 ways in the base game, from multiplying its reel heights of 2, 3, 4, 4, 3 and 2. xWays symbols and the periscope reel in the bonus can raise the total, and the maximum is 75,712 ways. For example, if an xWays symbol on reel 2 becomes three symbols, the grid briefly holds 960 ways. More ways mean more combinations, not a higher return, because the RTP already accounts for every feature. Read our ways to win guide for the arithmetic.
Is there a Das xBoot demo?
Many UK-licensed casinos list a Das xBoot demo, offered as free demo play after age verification. Under Gambling Commission rules introduced in May 2019, you must prove you are 18 or over before playing any free version. The demo uses the same maths model as the real game, so it is useful for learning the torpedo rules, but demo results say nothing about what will happen with real money. Our demo slots guide and comparison of demo and real slots give more detail.
When was Das xBoot released?
Das xBoot was released on 14 September 2021 by Nolimit City. It arrived shortly before the Gambling Commission's online game design rules came into force on 31 October 2021, so British versions have since run without autoplay, turbo or slam-stop and with a minimum spin time of 2.5 seconds. The studio was acquired by Evolution in a deal announced in June 2022. You can read about the company's history and other games on our Nolimit City provider page.
