What is the 2 Wild 2 Die slot?

2 Wild 2 Die is an online video slot from Hacksaw Gaming, released in 2024 on a grid of five reels and four rows. The theme is a frontier shoot-out: a gunslinger stands beside the reels, and when a revolver symbol lands she empties its chamber at the grid. Each bullet that hits a square changes it, first into a wild and then, on a second hit or a gold bullet, into a wild carrying a multiplier.

That makes it a shooter-style twist on the wild multiplier idea rather than a classic line game with a bolt-on bonus. Nearly all of the game’s value is concentrated in the moments when several multiplier wilds sit on the same winning line, which is why it is rated high volatility. It belongs to the wider family of western slot machines and sits in our slots hub alongside Hacksaw’s other cowboy titles.

How the 2 Wild 2 Die slot machine works, spin by spin

Like every UK-licensed online slot, the result of a spin is fixed by a random number generator the moment you press the button. The revolver animation is a way of showing you that result, not a process you can influence. In order, a base-game spin runs like this:

  1. Choose a total stake. In Great Britain the game must stop you above £5 a spin if you are 25 or over, or £2 if you are 18–24.
  2. Press spin. The reels show symbols for at least 2.5 seconds, the minimum game cycle for UK online slots.
  3. If a silver or gold revolver lands, it shows a number of bullets from one to six.
  4. The gunslinger fires those bullets at random squares on the grid. Silver hits create wilds; a second silver hit on the same square, or any gold hit, creates a multiplier wild.
  5. Empty revolver symbols with no bullets simply become wilds in their own positions.
  6. Line wins are counted left to right using the wilds and multipliers now on the grid, and the total is added to your balance.
  7. If three or four bonus scatters are showing, the matching free spins round starts.

Silver and gold revolvers: where the wild multipliers come from

The two revolver colours do different jobs, and knowing the difference helps you read what happens on screen. Published game guides describe the multiplier on a wild as a random value between 2× and 200×. Confirm the exact range in the help screen of the version your casino runs.

SilverTurns the square wildUpgrades it to a multiplier wildNeeds two hits on one spot to create a multiplier
GoldTurns the square straight into a multiplier wildFurther hits can change the valueThe rarer, stronger revolver

Where a winning line passes through more than one multiplier wild, the multipliers combine on that line, which is how the game reaches its biggest results. Most spins, though, will show either no revolver at all or bullets that hit squares outside any winning line.

2 Wild 2 Die paytable structure and symbols

The pay symbols fall into three tiers. Two outlaw characters form the premium tier; a pistol, a hat and an animal skull make up the middle tier; and the card ranks A, K, Q and J are the low payers. Wins need at least three matching symbols starting from the leftmost reel. The paytable in the game shows the current cash values for your chosen stake, which is more useful than any fixed list because it updates when you change the bet.

Hacksaw lists line counts and pay values inside the game. Different review sites quote slightly different line counts for this title, so treat the in-game rules as the final word.

2 Wild 2 Die free spins: Most Wanted! and Shootin’ Wild!

There are two separate bonus rounds, and which one you get depends on how many bonus scatter symbols land together in the base game.

2 Wild 2 Die bonus rounds compared
RoundTriggerHow it plays
Most Wanted!3 FS scattersA collect-style round with only revolvers, reload symbols and blanks; wanted posters above the reels add to or multiply revolver values
Shootin’ Wild!4 FS scattersFree spins (10, per published guides) where multiplier wilds become sticky for the rest of the round

Most Wanted!

This round plays more like a hold and win game than ordinary free spins. Silver revolvers stay in place and soak up value, gold ones fire and then leave, and bullets can strike the wanted posters above each reel to raise values. A reload symbol pays out the silver revolvers on screen and refills their chambers. The round continues while new symbols keep landing, with the counter going back to three each time something lands.

Shootin’ Wild!

The four-scatter round keeps the base-game mechanics but makes every multiplier wild sticky until the round ends, so each one created can contribute to later spins. Landing more scatters during the round adds extra spins, as described in free spins retriggers.

The Best Of bonus scatter, explained

A separate Best Of scatter can land with the normal bonus scatters on the same base-game spin. When it does, the round you triggered is played three times in a row and you receive only the highest of the three results, not the total. It reduces the chance of a very poor bonus because the weakest two outcomes are discarded, but it does not change the RTP of the game as a whole: the maths of the base game already accounts for how often the Best Of version appears.

2 Wild 2 Die RTP and its four versions

Hacksaw supplies 2 Wild 2 Die at four RTP settings: 96.25%, 94.15%, 92.14% and 88.25%. A casino chooses one, and the game’s help screen states which you are playing. The gap matters more than the decimals suggest, because the house edge on the lowest setting is more than three times the edge on the highest.

Average cost of 100 spins on 2 Wild 2 Die by RTP version
StakeStaked over 100 spinsLong-run cost at 96.25%Long-run cost at 88.25%
10p£10£0.37£1.18
20p£20£0.75£2.35
£1£100£3.75£11.75
£2£200£7.50£23.50
£5£500£18.75£58.75

These figures are averages over a very large number of spins. In a high-volatility game a run of 100 spins can easily lose most of the stake or return far more than it, so treat the table as the price of entertainment, not a forecast. The RTP explainer covers why short sessions swing so widely.

2 Wild 2 Die max win at UK stake limits

The published 2 Wild 2 Die max win is 15,000× the stake. Like most modern slots, that figure is a cap: if a spin or bonus would pay more, the game stops and pays the capped amount. Here is what the cap means at common stakes and at the two UK limits.

2 Wild 2 Die max win by stake
Stake per spin15,000× max win
10p£1,500
£1£15,000
£2 (limit for ages 18–24)£30,000
£5 (limit for ages 25+)£75,000

Hacksaw doesn’t publish how often the cap is reached, and we don’t guess. What the volatility rating does tell you is that results near the top are rare. Plan your budget around ordinary results, not the cap.

What high volatility means on this slot

Volatility describes how unevenly the RTP is paid back. On 2 Wild 2 Die, a large share of the return comes from multiplier wilds landing in the right places and from the bonus rounds, so many base-game spins return nothing or less than the stake. A £20 budget at 20p a spin buys 100 spins, but there is a real chance of reaching the end of it without seeing a bonus round.

Advantages

  • Multiplier wilds give ordinary spins a chance of a sizeable win
  • Two distinct bonus rounds add variety
  • Top RTP setting of 96.25% is above many older slots

Drawbacks

  • Long losing runs are normal
  • Lower RTP versions exist and are easy to miss
  • Bonus results range widely, so a single round tells you little

How UK rules shape the 2 Wild 2 Die slot

Outside Britain, Hacksaw sells several paid shortcuts for this game, including direct entry to the bonus rounds. Slots supplied to UK-licensed casinos don’t include bonus buys, so in Britain the only route into Most Wanted! or Shootin’ Wild! is landing the scatters.

  • No autoplay: since 31 October 2021 each spin must be started by hand (autoplay ban).
  • At least 2.5 seconds per spin and no turbo or slam-stop (spin speed rule).
  • Wins equal to or below the stake are not celebrated, and your net position for the session is shown.
  • Stake limits of £5 per spin from 9 April 2025 and £2 for 18–24s from 21 May 2025 (online slot stake limits).

The Gambling Commission’s online slots stake limit guidance (opens in a new tab) sets out how operators must apply the age-based caps, and the Remote gambling and software technical standards (opens in a new tab) contain the game design rules.

2 Wild 2 Die demo and how to check the RTP

Many casinos offer free demo play of 2 Wild 2 Die, after age verification; that requirement has applied in Britain since May 2019 (see demo slot age verification and the Commission’s page on age and ID verification (opens in a new tab)). The demo is the best way to see how the revolvers and posters behave without spending money. To confirm the RTP your casino uses:

  1. Open the game and tap the menu or information icon.
  2. Scroll the game rules to the section on return to player.
  3. Note the percentage: 96.25% is the top setting; 94.15%, 92.14% or 88.25% means a lower version.
  4. Compare it with the same game at another casino if the figure matters to you.

Common myths about the 2 Wild 2 Die slot machine

  • “A revolver that just missed means a big hit is coming.” Each spin is independent; bullets landing near a winning line are a form of near miss and carry no information about the next spin.
  • “The bonus is due after a long dry spell.” The chance of three scatters is the same on every spin, however long it has been.
  • “The demo pays more than the real game.” A properly supplied demo uses the same maths; differences come from short-run luck.
  • “Higher stakes improve the RTP.” The RTP is set by the version the casino chose, not by your stake.

Frequently asked questions

What is the RTP of the 2 Wild 2 Die slot?

The top RTP of 2 Wild 2 Die is 96.25%, but Hacksaw Gaming also supplies versions at 94.15%, 92.14% and 88.25%. Casinos choose which one to offer, and the figure is printed in the game rules. At 96.25%, 100 spins at £1 cost £3.75 on average over the very long run; at 88.25% the same spins cost £11.75. Always open the help screen before playing, and read our explainer on RTP variants to see why the same game can differ between sites.

What is the max win on 2 Wild 2 Die?

The max win on 2 Wild 2 Die is 15,000× the stake. At 10p that is £1,500, at £1 it is £15,000, and at the £5 limit for players aged 25 and over it is £75,000. A player aged 18–24 is limited to £2 a spin online, so their maximum is £30,000. The cap is reached very rarely, and the game ends a bonus round early if it is hit. See max win caps for how these limits work.

How do you trigger free spins on 2 Wild 2 Die?

You trigger free spins by landing bonus scatters in the base game: three start Most Wanted! and four start Shootin’ Wild!. If a Best Of scatter lands on the same spin, the round is played three times and you keep the best result. In the UK you can’t buy your way into either round, because bonus buys aren’t part of the version supplied to British casinos. Our page on what triggers a bonus round explains why there is no pattern to when they arrive.

What do the revolvers do in 2 Wild 2 Die?

Revolvers fire between one and six bullets at random squares on the grid, creating wilds and multiplier wilds. A silver bullet makes a square wild on the first hit and adds a multiplier on the second hit. A gold bullet creates a multiplier wild straight away. An empty revolver becomes a plain wild. Multipliers only pay when they sit inside a winning line, so a spectacular volley can still return little. Our wild multipliers page compares this with other studios’ versions.

Is 2 Wild 2 Die high volatility?

Yes, 2 Wild 2 Die is classed as high volatility. Much of its return comes from multiplier wilds and bonus rounds, so many spins pay nothing or less than the stake and wins arrive in uneven bursts. That makes it a poor fit for a small budget that you want to last a long time. If you prefer steadier play, look at lower-volatility games through our medium volatility slot machines guide, and set a session budget before you start.

Can I play the 2 Wild 2 Die demo for free?

You can usually play the 2 Wild 2 Die demo with free demo play, after age verification, at casinos that offer the game. UK rules have required age checks before demo play since May 2019, so you will need an account first. The demo uses play credits and mirrors the real game’s features, which makes it a sensible way to learn how the revolvers and posters work. Our demo slots guide covers what demos can and can’t tell you.

Is there a bonus buy on 2 Wild 2 Die in the UK?

No, the version of 2 Wild 2 Die supplied to UK-licensed casinos doesn’t include a bonus buy. In some other markets the game sells direct entry to its bonus rounds and enhanced feature spins, but games offered in Great Britain come without those options. That means scatters are the only way into Most Wanted! and Shootin’ Wild! for UK players. Read bonus buy in the UK for the background on how studios supply British versions.

Who makes 2 Wild 2 Die?

Hacksaw Gaming makes it: the studio launched in September 2018 and is based in Malta. Hacksaw is known for high-volatility games with multiple bonus rounds and for the Best Of mechanic seen here. Its best-known title is Wanted Dead or a Wild, which shares the western theme. Our Hacksaw Gaming provider page lists its other games on this site and explains how the studio supplies its slots to UK casinos.

How long will £20 last on 2 Wild 2 Die?

At 20p a spin, £20 buys 100 spins, and at a 2.5-second minimum per spin that is a little over four minutes of pure spinning, though real sessions run longer. Because the game is high volatility, the money may run out well before 100 spins or last much longer after a win. The long-run average cost of those 100 spins at 96.25% RTP is 75p, but that average says little about any single session. Our slot cost calculator lets you test other stakes.

Is 2 Wild 2 Die fair?

Yes, in the sense that UK-licensed casinos must run games whose random number generators and RTP have been independently tested before release. Fair does not mean favourable: every version has a house edge, from 3.75% on the top setting up to 11.75% on the lowest. Results can’t be predicted or influenced, and there is no timing trick. For more on how testing works, see how machines are tested.
