The Gigantoonz slot is Play’n GO’s 2022 cluster-pays game on an 8 × 8 grid, with cascading wins, oversized Mega symbols and a four-stage Quantumeter that builds towards a monster called Gargantoonz. Its top-version RTP is 96.25%, volatility is high and the max win is 4,000 times your stake.
Gigantoonz is a high-volatility 8 × 8 cluster-pays slot from Play’n GO, released in 2022.
The top RTP version is 96.25%, so 100 spins at £1 cost an average of £3.75 over the very long run.
There is no classic free spins round: the Quantumeter, charged by winning symbols, is the bonus engine.
The 4,000× max win equals £8,000 at the £2 limit for 18–24s and £20,000 at £5, if your casino offers that stake.

How the Gigantoonz slot machine works, step by step
Gigantoonz drops 64 alien creatures into an 8 × 8 grid instead of spinning reels. A win is a cluster: a group of matching symbols touching each other horizontally or vertically. Diagonal contact does not count. This is the cluster pays model that Play’n GO made famous with Reactoonz, stretched onto a bigger board.
When a cluster pays, its symbols are removed and the creatures above fall into the gaps, with new ones dropping in from the top. That is a cascade, and it repeats for as long as new clusters form. One paid bet can therefore produce a chain of wins, and every symbol cleared along the way feeds the Quantumeter at the side of the grid.
Choose your total stake. Your stake is the only cost of the round; cascades and meter features add nothing to it.
Press spin. The random number generator fixes the whole starting grid at that moment.
Any cluster of matching symbols pays according to the paytable, then disappears.
Symbols fall, new ones fill the space, and the game checks for fresh clusters.
Each removed symbol adds charge to the Quantumeter; when cascades stop, the next charged feature fires.
If the round ends with no win, Quantum Wilds may be dropped in at random to try to form one.
The random number generator decides each starting grid independently. Nothing about the previous round, the meter level you saw last time or the time of day changes the odds of the next one.
The Quantumeter: the Gigantoonz bonus feature in detail
Play’n GO’s game page describes the Quantumeter as a four-level charge bar. Winning symbols add charge, and once the cascades have finished, the next feature in line triggers. The levels work in order, so a long chain of wins can carry the meter through several stages in one paid round.

Gargantoonz
Wakes Gargantoonz: Mega symbols become Mega Gargantoonz, with at least three on the grid
In practice the first three stages are tools for building clusters: clearing four symbol types leaves a grid full of fresh drops, and transformations or wilds can join neighbouring groups. The fourth stage is the high point. Mega Gargantoonz act as wilds and, according to the developer, each one later splits into a single 1 × 1 Gargantoonz that is removed as normal, which keeps the cascade going.
Mega symbols, Quantum Wilds and the ‘gigantic’ toonz
The name comes from the oversized creatures. A Mega symbol fills a square block of cells but counts as a single symbol, and Play’n GO says it carries a higher cluster value than one ordinary symbol. If a Mega symbol will not fit after a cascade, it breaks into single symbols that fill the empty spaces. This is close to the mega symbols and colossal symbols ideas used elsewhere, but here the giants are part of the cluster arithmetic.
Quantum Wilds on losing rounds
On a round that would otherwise pay nothing, the game can add between five and ten Quantum Wilds at random positions. That is a random wild rescue mechanic. It does not change the game’s overall return: the paytable and the 96.25% figure already account for every rescue that will happen in the long run.
Does Gigantoonz have free spins or a bonus round?
No classic free spins round appears in Play’n GO’s description of Gigantoonz. The slot works like the Reactoonz family: the bonus action happens inside paid rounds, through cascades and the Quantumeter. That matters for budgeting, because there is no separate round where you can expect a burst of wins; the big outcomes come from long cascade chains that wake Gargantoonz.
In UK casinos you also cannot pay to jump straight to the top meter stage. Feature buy options are not offered on slots supplied to Great Britain, so every Gargantoonz moment has to come from normal play. Our page on bonus buy in the UK explains how that works.
Gigantoonz RTP and volatility: what the numbers mean
The 96.25% figure is the top version. Play’n GO, like most studios, supplies several RTP variants and each casino chooses one, so the version in your lobby may return less. RTP is an average across millions of rounds: in one evening you can finish well ahead or lose your whole budget.
High volatility means most rounds return little or nothing and a minority of long cascades carry much of the return. Small budgets can run out before the meter reaches its last stage. That is the trade-off for a 4,000× ceiling.

These are long-run averages, not predictions. Over 100 rounds the real result can be far better or far worse, which is exactly what high volatility means.
Gigantoonz max win at UK stake limits
The max win is capped at 4,000 times your total stake. When the cap is reached the round ends and the prize is paid. The cap is a ceiling, not a target; most players will never see anything close to it.
Is the Gigantoonz slot worth playing? Who it suits
Advantages
A detailed feature system you can follow on screen, with four distinct meter stages
Above-average top RTP of 96.25% if the casino runs that version
Cascades let one stake produce several wins
Losing rounds can be rescued by Quantum Wilds
Drawbacks
High volatility: long dry spells are normal
No separate free spins round
4,000× is a lower ceiling than some newer grid slots
Busy animations make it harder to follow exactly what paid
Gigantoonz suits adults who already like grid games and accept that most of the value sits in rare long chains. If you prefer steadier, smaller wins, a lower-volatility game such as Starburst behaves very differently.

Gigantoonz myths and what is really going on
‘The meter carries over, so keep playing to finish it.’ The game page describes the meter firing when cascades end within a round; nothing tells you a future round is more likely to pay.
‘Lots of near-full grids mean a big one is close.’ Near misses are just outcomes; the next grid is drawn independently.
‘Quantum Wilds show the game is being generous.’ The rescue wilds are built into the published RTP and appear by design on some losing rounds.
‘Demo results show how the real game will pay.’ A demo uses the same maths but a different random sequence, so it shows how features look, not what will happen with money.
How to check the Gigantoonz RTP and demo in the UK
The quickest way to confirm which version you are playing is the game’s own information screen. Our guide on how to find a slot’s RTP has screenshots of the usual layouts.
Open the game and tap the menu or ‘i’ button.
Scroll the rules to the section headed ‘Return to player’ or similar.
Note the percentage; if it is below 96.25%, the casino runs a lower variant.
Read the cluster payouts in the paytable at your chosen stake, since values are shown in pounds.
If you want to see the Quantumeter before staking, use the demo mode, which needs age verification first.
Since 31 October 2021, online slots in Great Britain have had no autoplay, a minimum of 2.5 seconds per game cycle, no turbo or slam-stop and no celebration of a ‘win’ that returns your stake or less. The slot game design rules also require your balance and net position to stay visible. On a cascade game, the whole chain counts as one game cycle, so a long Gigantoonz chain still costs only your single stake.
Credit cards cannot be used to gamble, and new customers are prompted to set a financial limit before their first deposit. These tools help keep spending to an amount you planned.

Frequently asked questions
What is the RTP of the Gigantoonz slot?
The top version of Gigantoonz has an RTP of 96.25%. Play’n GO supplies lower variants too, and each casino chooses which one to run, so the figure in your lobby may be lower. Open the game’s rules screen and look for the return to player line to confirm it. Remember that RTP is a long-run average over millions of rounds and says little about a single session. Our RTP explainer shows how the percentage is calculated and why short-term results swing so widely.
What is the Gigantoonz max win?
Gigantoonz caps any single round at 4,000 times your total stake. At 10p that is £400, at £1 it is £4,000, at the £2 limit for 18–24-year-olds it is £8,000, and at £5 it is £20,000, if the casino’s version goes that high. When the cap is reached the round ends. It is a ceiling built into the maths rather than something to aim for, and very few rounds come anywhere near it. See our max win caps guide for more.
Does Gigantoonz have free spins?
No, Gigantoonz has no classic free spins round in the developer’s description. Its bonus play happens during paid rounds through cascading wins and the Quantumeter, which fires Disintegrations, Metamorphosis, Radiation and finally Gargantoonz as charge builds. Because there is no separate round, your budget needs to cover long stretches of ordinary play. If you prefer games with a defined free spins round, our free spins feature guide explains how they work and how they change a slot’s volatility.
How does the Gigantoonz Quantumeter work?
The Quantumeter fills as winning symbols are removed from the grid, and it has four levels at 25, 50, 75 and 100 charges. When the cascades stop, the next level in line triggers its feature: removing four symbol types, transforming symbols, adding Mega symbols and wilds, or waking Gargantoonz. Each stage aims to create more clusters within the same paid round. A partly filled meter at the end of a round does not make the next round more likely to pay, as our slot myths guide explains.
Can I play a Gigantoonz demo for free?
Yes, free demo play is available at many UK casinos, but only after the casino has verified you are 18 or over. That age check has been required for free-to-play games since May 2019. The demo uses the same rules and paytable as the real game, so it is a good way to watch the Quantumeter and Mega symbols in action. It cannot show what will happen with real money, because every round is random. Our demo slots guide covers the details.
Is Gigantoonz high volatility?
Yes, Gigantoonz is rated high volatility. Most rounds pay little or nothing, and a large share of the return comes from occasional long cascade chains that push the meter to its top stage. That makes results lumpy: a £20 budget can disappear quickly, or a single chain can return several times the stake. If you want a gentler ride, look at lower-volatility games instead. Our guide to slot volatility and budgets shows how to match a game to the money you plan to spend.
Is Gigantoonz the same as Reactoonz?
No, but they are close relatives from the same studio. Both are Play’n GO cluster-pays games with cascading wins, alien creatures and a charge meter that ends with a giant monster. Gigantoonz uses a larger 8 × 8 grid, adds Mega symbols that count as single symbols with a higher cluster value, and has a 4,000× cap. Reactoonz uses a 7 × 7 grid with a listed 96.51% RTP and a 4,570× max win, and its sequel has its own feature set.
Can I buy the Gargantoonz feature in the UK?
No, you cannot buy any feature in Gigantoonz at UK-licensed casinos. Slots supplied to players in Great Britain do not offer feature buy or bonus buy options, so the Quantumeter can only be filled through normal play. Some overseas versions of slots include a buy button, but UK versions do not. This keeps the cost of each round equal to your chosen stake. Our page on bonus buy in the UK explains how this works in more detail.
What is the maximum stake on Gigantoonz in the UK?
You can stake up to £5 a spin on Gigantoonz if you are 25 or older, and up to £2 if you are between 18 and 24. Those caps cover every online slot in Great Britain and came into force in April and May 2025. The game’s own bet range may stop below £5, depending on how the casino has configured it, so check the stake menu. The rules are set out on our online slot stake limits page.
Why does Gigantoonz add wilds after a losing spin?
Quantum Wilds are a built-in rescue feature. On a round that would end with no win, the game can drop five to ten wilds into random positions to try to create a cluster. They are not a sign of a generous machine or of a casino adjusting anything. Their frequency is part of the game’s fixed maths and is already counted in the published RTP. Our random wilds feature page explains how random wild mechanics are designed and why they don’t change the long-run return.
