The Gates of Olympus 2500 slot is Pragmatic Play's high-volatility update of its Zeus game, with a 96.52% RTP, scatter pays on a 6 × 5 grid and a 25,000x max win. The number in the name refers to the top multiplier orb, worth 2,500x, which is the main thing separating it from earlier versions.
Pragmatic Play slot: 6 × 5 grid, scatter pays (8+ matching symbols anywhere), 96.52% RTP, high volatility.
Winning symbols tumble away; orb multipliers from 2x up to 2,500x are added together and applied at the end of a tumble sequence.
Four or more Zeus scatters award 15 free spins, where orb values build a running total multiplier.
Max win is 25,000x: £50,000 at the £2 limit for 18–24s and £125,000 at £5.
Average long-run cost is about £3.48 per £100 staked, with very large swings around that.

What the Gates of Olympus 2500 slot machine is
Gates of Olympus 2500 is the latest step in a series from Pragmatic Play. The original Gates of Olympus set the template of tumbling scatter pays and Zeus throwing multiplier orbs; Gates of Olympus 1000 raised the top orb to 1,000x. This version raises it again, to 2,500x, and lifts the max win to 25,000x.

The RTPs are almost identical, so a bigger ceiling has to be paid for elsewhere in the maths: typically by making ordinary results a little leaner. Our Gates of Olympus vs Gates of Olympus 1000 comparison shows how the first step up changed the game.
How scatter pays work on Gates of Olympus 2500
There are no paylines. The game is a pays-anywhere slot: eight or more of the same symbol anywhere on the 30-position grid form a win, and larger counts pay more. The crown is the top-paying symbol, Olympian treasures fill the middle of the paytable, and coloured gems are the low pays.
Set your stake and spin. The RNG decides the full grid.
Any symbol with eight or more copies on the grid pays.
Winning symbols are removed and the rest fall down; new symbols drop in from above.
Steps 2 and 3 repeat as long as new wins form.
When the tumbles stop, any multiplier orbs on the grid are added together and applied to the total win of the sequence.
The tumble is the same mechanic covered in our guide to cascading reels; the glossary's tumble entry explains the term Pragmatic uses.
Multiplier orbs from 2x to 2,500x
Orbs can land on any spin, in the base game or the bonus. Each carries a value from 2x up to 2,500x. They do nothing on their own: at the end of a tumble sequence that contains a win, all orb values on screen are added together, not multiplied, and the sum multiplies the sequence's total win. If the sequence has no win, the orbs pay nothing.

Because the top orb is so large, a single lucky orb can turn a small tumble into a substantial win. Read our explainer on slot machine multipliers for how additive and multiplicative systems differ.
Free spins on the Gates of Olympus 2500 slot
Four or more Zeus scatters anywhere award 15 free spins, and three or more during the feature add five more. In the bonus, orb values build into a running total multiplier that lasts for the rest of the round, so later wins can be multiplied by everything collected so far. That accumulation is where the largest results come from.
Published game guides describe more than one free spins mode. In one, an orb adds to the running total only when it lands during a winning sequence; in another, every orb adds to the total whether it is part of a win or not. Some modes, including 'Super' versions with higher minimum orb values, are linked to buy options that are not supplied to British players. The help screen in your version lists the modes it actually includes.

The published Gates of Olympus 2500 RTP is 96.52%, with high volatility. Over millions of spins about £96.52 of each £100 staked returns as wins; £3.48 is the house edge. Pragmatic games are also supplied at lower return settings, so check your casino's version; our page on RTP variants explains why this happens.
High volatility on a scatter-pays game shows up as many spins with no win or a tiny tumble, punctuated by occasional sequences where orbs land with a win. Bonus rounds vary enormously: some return less than their cost in base-game spins, a very few return thousands of times the stake.

Ante bets and bonus buys in the UK version
Outside Great Britain, Gates of Olympus 2500 lists several ante bet levels that raise the cost of each spin in return for a higher chance of free spins, plus a range of buy options. Feature buys are not offered by slots at UK-licensed casinos, so those buys are absent here. If your version shows an ante bet, remember that it raises the real cost of every spin and the total still has to fit within your stake limit.
The bonus buy in the UK page explains why British players see a simpler menu than players elsewhere.
Is Gates of Olympus 2500 worth playing?
It suits adults who enjoy high-volatility games and treat the stake as the price of the entertainment, accepting that many sessions end without a meaningful win. It is a poor match for anyone wanting a steady balance or a long session on a small budget.

Frequently asked questions
What is the RTP of Gates of Olympus 2500?
The published RTP of Gates of Olympus 2500 is 96.52%. Over a very large number of spins that is about £96.52 paid back per £100 staked, with £3.48 kept. Lower-RTP versions of Pragmatic games are also supplied to casinos, so open the game rules and check the stated figure before you play. Short sessions can be far above or below the average, especially on a high-volatility game. Our guide on how to find a slot's RTP shows where to look.
What is the Gates of Olympus 2500 max win?
The Gates of Olympus 2500 max win is 25,000x your stake. That is £5,000 at 20p, £25,000 at £1, £50,000 at the £2 limit for players aged 18 to 24 and £125,000 at the £5 limit for those aged 25 and over. The cap is reached extremely rarely, and the developer doesn't publish the odds. Casinos may also cap payouts in their terms. Our page on what slot has the biggest max win compares ceilings.
How do multipliers work on Gates of Olympus 2500?
Multiplier orbs worth 2x to 2,500x can land on any spin. When a tumble sequence that includes a win ends, the values of all orbs on the grid are added together and the total multiplies that sequence's win. Orbs on a spin with no win pay nothing. In free spins, orb values also feed a running total multiplier for the rest of the round. For the general idea, read what is a multiplier in slots.
How do you trigger free spins on Gates of Olympus 2500?
Land four or more Zeus scatter symbols anywhere on the grid in one base-game spin to win 15 free spins. During the feature, three or more scatters add five more spins. In the UK version there is no bonus buy, so the scatters are the only way in. Every spin has the same chance of a trigger, whatever has happened before. For the general mechanics, see how many spins until a bonus.
Is Gates of Olympus 2500 better than Gates of Olympus 1000?
Not in any reliable sense. Gates of Olympus 2500 lists a 96.52% RTP and a 25,000x max win, while Gates of Olympus 1000 lists 96.50% and 15,000x. The RTPs are nearly identical, so the higher ceiling in the newer game is balanced by leaner results elsewhere. Pick the one whose shape you prefer and check the RTP at your casino. Our Gates of Olympus 1000 page explains the earlier version.
Can I use an ante bet on Gates of Olympus 2500 in the UK?
It depends on the version your casino runs; the help screen shows whether an ante bet option is present. Outside Great Britain the game lists several ante levels that raise the cost of each spin for a higher chance of free spins. If an ante option is available, it increases your real stake per spin, and the total must still fit within the £5 limit for players aged 25 and over or £2 for those aged 18 to 24. Read our explainer on the ante bet.
Is there a Gates of Olympus 2500 demo?
Yes, a demo version is offered by many UK casinos, but free demo play in Great Britain is only available after age verification, a rule in place since May 2019. The demo runs the same maths as the real game, so it shows how tumbles and orbs work, though demo credit has no value and can make swings feel smaller. Our demo slots vs real money slots page explains the differences.
Why do orbs land on losing spins?
Orbs are placed by the RNG on any spin, but they only pay when that spin's tumble sequence includes a win. When there is no win, they simply disappear. This is not a near miss or a sign of anything to come; the next spin is independent. Seeing large orbs without a win can feel frustrating, which is part of how slot design holds attention. Our page on slot machine near misses explains why these moments mean nothing.
How much does Gates of Olympus 2500 cost per spin session?
On average, it keeps about 3.48% of what you stake. For 100 spins at 20p you would stake £20, with a long-run average cost of about 70p; at £1 a spin you stake £100 and the average cost is about £3.48. Real sessions on a high-volatility game can lose the whole amount or more, or occasionally win. Use our slot cost calculator to work out a session at your own stake.
Who makes Gates of Olympus 2500?
It is made by Pragmatic Play, a studio founded in 2015 and headquartered in Gibraltar. Pragmatic is regulated by the Gambling Commission among more than 30 jurisdictions and is also known for Sweet Bonanza and Big Bass Bonanza. Its products include slots, live casino and network promotions. The Gates of Olympus series is one of its best-known franchises. Read our Pragmatic Play provider page for the studio's background.
